Absolutely. Office supply stores like Staples carry them in lots of different sizes (up to 8.5" x 11", I think).

freakin' sweet! I am going to staples tonight!

I am making a prop for an rpg. It's a cell phone from the future. I am making some simple "Ultraviolet-esque" phone graphics in illustrator and want to print them on the clear sticky back labels and apply them to a piece of clear plexi cut to shape.

I'll take pix when I am done. Should be finished by the end of the weekend if all goes well.

Should work great for that. I used it to make a brass plaque for a display. I printed out the text, slapped it on a piece of flat, brass stock and it looks great!

One thing you'll need to be careful of is air bubbles. Keep them out, and you'll be fine.

I've checked my local office supply place for clear label stickers. I bought a few different packages which cost way too much and found them all to be "cloudy." Or matte would be a beter description, though all the packages said clear.

Is there a certain brand or designation on the packaging that I should be looking for here?

I havn't seen any that are optically clear. Anything with an adhesive on it is going to distort some.

Have you tried affixing one of them to the surface you have planned? Sometimes they clear up when attached to a colored surface.

Yeah, I have. I tried it with two materials. One was the plexi you can buy at Home depot. It was non glare, so I thought that might have been the problem, so i affixed the same sticker to a dark wood table top and got the same clouded results.

I'll try and post pix when I get home tonight.

What you need are clear polyester labels. I was going to tell you that you wouldn't be able to run them through an inkjet (but a copier or laser printer works fine), but while searching for an example to show you I found this product: http://www.rippedsheets.com/inkjet/clearpoly.html (they also have a picture of it applied to an item).
