Hey all,
Im a big dredd fan and ive always wanted a lawgiver. Not having a lot of money means i cant afford proper replicas so im always looking for a cheap alternative.
I work at Toys R Us and noticed that the Airzone Quickfire pistol looks an aweful lot like a lawgiver.
So i bought them with the intention of just doing a repaint but decided to take it a step further. As far as ive read the dredd 3D version of the lawgiver is based on a glock and i had an old airsoft metal one that was no longer working.
I gutted the quickfire of internal parts and sanded down any excess plastic inside to leave me with just both sides of the shell.
It was a pretty tight fit and took a fair amount of time with the dremel to get it right. Eventually i got both halves screwed on top of the glock and stuck a bit of hot glue on it to hold them in place. Next i decided to cut off the tactical rail at the top because i didn't feel like it needed it. The lawgiver doesn't seem the gun to need a tactical attachment.
Then i did a bit of rondo/sanding on the top to fill in the gap from the rails removal and around the joint between the quickfire shell and the glock.
Then whacked on some primer
I filled in the housing for the front clip and stuck in a few details for fake lights (cause im not so savvy with electronics and im short on time).
I was filling in around the handle when i noticed id sanded too far with the dremel on that side and cut right through the 'circular' detail at the rear where the airzone sticker had been.
The only solution i could come up with was to make a fake trigger release style switch and stick it ontop of some rondo lol. Just a little bit of styrene i shaped.
Anyhoo, i painted and weathered it quickly and heres the finished article;
Thanks
Steve
