Not bad I know SDUK has brought one of these and wants to upgrade to a spun metal one so maybe look at waiting a little longer to buy a spun metal one to save disappointment..

With a first look, it seems off. Here are a few reasons:

    1. The captain america shields from the movies were 25" in diameter (this dimension comes from the Captain America profiles in history auction catalog). The shield in the link is 23".

    2. The above shield is just painted, there is no spun grain to the metal. Although the shields used in the movies (TFA and Avengers) are resin, the prop department did a really nice job of simulating the spun grain effect.

    3. Note 100% on this, but the silver ring seems depressed when compared to the two red rings. This was probably done to make painting easier on the manufacturer's part. The real shields follow the same curvature over a cross section.

    4. I would think the four additional bumps for the handle attachments would get annoying. Just me.

The shield costs £64.99 (about $100 on 6/6/2012). You can make a very accurate replica prop of this shield for around $150. Valor does an excellent job explaining what he has done on his threads. The first post in this thread gives all of Valor's Captain shields. The cheaper one used a steel sled. http://www.therpf.com/f9/my-last-cap...iously-145739/

I wouldn't go with this product, but I would love to hear what other people have to say about this. I have yet to build one of these, but I have been doing a lot of research. Finally, it would be interesting to see if Chris Fields has anything to say about this, as he is the informal expert on replica Cap shields.

A quick google search for 'Captain America 23 Inch Deluxe Metal Shield' brings up a load of online stores selling the shield - It looks to be officially licensed by Marvel, but doesn't look great. Mind you, you get what you pay for, i think for the money it may be OK.

    Something's fishy.

The shields you find when you search for "Captain America 23 Inch Deluxe Metal Shield" are this. Which is metal (but kinda ugly IMHO):

The pic on the link you shared is this shield:

    Which is plastic.

Figured it out. If you go back a page on the site, you'll see that the web programmer mixed up the two shield photos.
