Blade Runner Airsoft Build

So, I am digging in and starting my first gas powered airsoft Blade Runner blaster. Due to the lack of Charter Arms replicas available I had to go with a Dan Wesson .44 /6 shot instead. It is VERY close in size to the actual prop and I feel that with the proper modifications and patience it should come out great!! Here's a few shots of it before modifications next to my Coyle metal version...still a WIP...this is going to be fun!!! It should be done after the new year and then it will be available if anyone likes it enough...it won't be 100% screen accurate but it will be fun for any airsoft fans...enjoy and cheers!
More pictures to come and possibly a video?!

Yes! One can NEVER have too many blasters,..especially the PKD! If all goes well I will be doing a small run of at least 4 of these! It all depends on how this one comes out..but so far the measurements are very close. The tricky part is the grip and grip frame but a fellow RPF member posted his Kanamaru Airsoft build and it should be very helpful...we will see!?!?
Thanks for the support... cheers!

I hope my build helps

The only advice I give is go slow when working on the grip conversion and constantly double check your work against the outter frame.

I can tell you working on the grip is both the biggest pain and the most nerve wracking cause you have to be careful about how much you cut and drill on that piece and where those cuts and holes are placed.

However I'm not sure if the wesson grip is the same as the bulldog was.

Other then that rest is pretty straght forward.

So ill be watcing this thread and your progress with great interest.

Thank you! The S & W frame is NOT the same at all and will without question be the toughest part of this build! That and replacing the barrel correctly so it will still shoot!?! Pretty excited to try it though as the S & W wasn't very expensive I can afford to make a mistake or two! I have several real Charter arms grip frames and I might try to cut the main pistol frame to match the grip...I've got 6 sets of full parts from Rich Coyle so again, if I make a mistake I have replacement parts! All in all, this us something I wanted to do for a long time and your build was extremely inspirational.... thanks for your input! Cheers!

There's a Fallout-themed airsoft event down here in Florida, Wasteland (run by Mind Game Productions), and a gun like that would be perfect for it.

You're going to be chopping and grinding on that revolver a lot. :)

Good luck though. Will be interested to see your progress. Your dremel ready?

Dremel , band saw ,edge sander, drill press, planer, and about $3500 in hand tools...I think I'm ready!?

Man you're A LOT better off then I was in the tool department. All I had was a dremel, a hacksaw, and a jewelers saw for all my cutting :lol

Well I repair and build custom guitars and basses so I have a pretty decent workshop at my fingertips! Its going to help a lot...

Here is what I got done so far...just a few shots before I really tear this baby apart and start the hardest part of this thing...figuring out how to modify the body without effecting the inner workings of the pistol while being able to keep the look correct! Enjoy...hope it all comes together... not sure about the video but maybe during the final assembly and test firing!!?? Cheers!

Looks like a lot of work; kudos for having the balls to tackle that major surgery. The patient is on the table and surrounded by a capable surgeon.
Loving what I'm seeing:D

Thanks my friend... its going to be a rough one from here however, as I figured out the bodies are a bit different in size...now some serious measuring and careful cutting and grinding...fingers crossed it works out!!!! Cheers!

All of this is just fit ..not cut and placed yet either! You can see that this might actually happen now!!!! Cheers!

Ha! Ha! Ha! Well...so far, so good!? The parts are all starting to line up and with some clever tweaking it should come out pretty close to the original prop...only a 6 shooter instead of a 5 shot?!? Its already been a challenge... but a lot of fun!! Thanks for checking it out! More to come!!! Cheers!

This is going to be tricky...but I have a few ideas...cheers!

Very nicely done so far.

Can't wait to see what your solution for the grip will be cause it looks like it will be a major pain to do.
