Yeah she uses them towards the end, every time she jumps up on the bad guys back and digs them into their neck. Kinda like a taser.
My GF used about 30 mechanical pencils, slighty modded and painted black, with thin elastic thread run through holes drilled in each one. The entire lot was then backed with thick elastic strap so she could slip them on and off her wrist. Looks very cool!
I am going to guess like almost everything for Avengers, these were custom made and don't have any direct tie to a found part.micdavis said:

Yup, they were custom made just like the one's used in Iron Man 2, the one's she wear's in Avengers before using these at the end were actually re-used from Iron Man, made of resin held together with elastic. The light up version she uses in the end of the movie go together with her gloves which had the "stun" thingy running on the top of her gloves.

Yes, I have a model built. Am going to "print" one tomorrow.
But in the first set of Star credit at the end of the film, they show close-up of each character's gear. For BW they show the stingers lit up. Sure looks real there.
