There are some castings bouncing around out there. A lot of them claim to be cast off an original but they are recasts of a blaster I made in 1980.
You know, I am not really into re-boots of old movies, but The Black Hole would be a great candidate for this in my book. Might have to get one of these blasters if some wonderful soul ever kitted them!

I bought a resin cast of a Sentry blaster in May from Lucas Francis Studios. It was $75 for resin and $125 for fiberglass and he says it's from a screen used blaster. It comes in two halves which are the same and below are a couple pix of what I received, someone is putting alot of work into mine right now.

Another thread with a scratchbuild. Plus there are some reference photos in there of the blasters on display in the Disney Archive - http://www.therpf.com/f9/long-time-a...chbuild-77232/

Gene ... THANK YOU for that reference !!!
Not only is the info within the discussion thread ITSELF incredibly helpful, but there was a link to a step-by-step DIY TUTORIAL on how to make the Sentry Blaster --->
Tony Damata's "Build your own Black Hole Sentry Blaster" Page
Looks like we've now got some solid information for a fun replica project !!! In fact, seeing that tutorial (and other images within that thread), there's lots of room for some "contemporary" improvement, me thinks.
Again ... THANK YOU !!!

Gil has a partially completed blaster sitting in my garage. You're not the only one who wants one of these.![]()
I'm seeing a "seek and find" excursion to my local Lowe's/Home Depot/Hobby Lobby/Toys-R-Us in my immediate future . . . to see what kind of "new and improved" ideas I can find and come up with for building an "updated" version of this blaster - one that doesn't look as "wood-y" as the original and within Tony Damata's tutorial above. (Taking absolutely nothing away from Tony's tutorial - which is AWESOME !!!)
Off the top of my head, I'm thinking perhaps looking at thin aluminum and/or bronze tubing, PVC items, and something that might substitute for a cooler looking grip/trigger. Time to dust off my old Dremmel.![]()
Acyrlic rod and a cutoff wheel in a mini chop saw........ Those should all be standard dimensions.
As I stated in that thread - any additional thought put into this replica is more thought than Disney put into the originals.......
Gene
Not sure if they're still making/selling these, but I figured I'd share the resource nevertheless . . .
