    Mar 24, 2009 - Audrey 2 (ish) quickie project #1

My assistant manager at work is leaving for another store and I have a tradition of making something for the management team when they leave. The lady isn't into Sci-Fi or Horror at all so the stuff I make isn't too appealing to her so I figured this was a s "normal" as I can get.

This gave me a chance to try out something new though, as all of the detail on this was done with just a glue gun. Sadly my airbrush is locked in my shed which is still buried under snow so I had to hand paint this...

Including the time it took for the base coat to dry this was a 2 hour project start to finish. I haven't posted anything for ages so I thought I would share.

I'm sure she will be happy, how can you not with something that was hand-made AND painted!

I'm just watching "Little Shop" right now and was thinking how cool it would be to make one of these, either for the kitchen table or on the porch next to my potted plants. What did you make the basic shape from?

    Neat!

    So what's the build up?

Is the base of the pod a styrofoam egg?

That's a pretty good idea. I might hit the craft store and see if I can come up with something close. I actually started checking eBay to try and match the Maxwell House coffee can Seymour kept the plant in during "Grow for Me." I've found some that are very close, but not quite there. I might just go with one of those, since they're not too expensive.

I use plastic easter eggs as the base to build from for these.
