Since I love a good internet witch hunt: I decided to test this guy and see what all the hubbub was about.

Lets just say that he lives up to the hype.
For your internetainment. This is all in regards to the clearly Matsuo Season 1 BSG blaster that he is selling.

ME: "This is really nice - who makes this pistol?"

    HIM:
    Dear fireflying2011,

    Thanks they are all nice
    made by an industry professional

    - auctionsherpa

    ME:
    Dear auctionsherpa,

Naturally - as you said. But as a collector of props, and in light of the prices that are posted, I do not think that it is too far out of the reasonable to ask the origins of the piece.

    Thank you

    - fireflying2011

    HIM:
    Dear fireflying2011,

I was told it origins can be traced back to planet yabba dabba doo
    how that helps .

    - auctionsherpa
    **and immediately after**
    Dear fireflying2011,

Tell them urgzagibukazkaka sent you thats the name I was given by the leader of that planet after showing the people there the benefits of boiling hot dogs.
    thanks again .

    - auctionsherpa

    ME:
    Dear auctionsherpa,

Now aren't you a charming little *********. Thank you for the childish response. I can assure you that any thoughts I may have had about purchasing this piece are now gone. I will make sure to warn others away from you as well.

A bit of advice. If you are going to ask the prices you do, which is entirely your prerogative, it is generally the customer service that helps seal the deal. You are far from the only seller on eBay, and since you are reselling Matsuo's pieces, you might do well to remember that he still makes many of them - as a quick cross reference showed me - and if not cheaper, at least with far less rudeness and jackassery in his customer service.

    Thank you.

    - fireflying2011

    HIM:
    Dear fireflying2011,

I can smell trolls like yourself from miles away you all have the same flaw in your brains . So feel free to buy from whom you wish thats
the great thing about life on our planet even things like you can choose. like being a troll is your choice . If you have cheaper options by all means use them .
but any more trolling / disruptive comments I will report you sorry. As you have proven in your disruptive actions you were not interested in buying but simply being disruptive .

    - auctionsherpa

    ME:
    Dear auctionsherpa,

Since I too have the message logs - I find it hard to believe that ANY action you could try to bring against me for being "disruptive" would carry any weight. Not only would it be impossible to prove that, as you say, I had no intention of buying your piece - I actually did intend to purchase it; but I think that any such action would backfire on YOU when eBay saw how you treated a potential customer. I asked a simple question and any reasonable person would agree that I was justified in asking the origins of the piece. After your initial response I did some additional digging and arrived at the conclusions that I voiced in my subsequent message.

I have a 100% positive feedback as a buyer, I am most certainly not a troll.
You on the other hand, are an immature, childish, and very rude seller. You are blocked. Please do not fill my inbox with anymore of your bogus replies.

    Thank you.

    - fireflying2011

    HIM:
    Dear fireflying2011,

Your worst then a troll your a fowl mouthed troll . Oh yes i see your 10 feedback in a year your a ebay powerhouse
You exposed yourself troll and your filthy insults will not go over well .

    - auctionsherpa

To which I am going to let him have the last word, as I do not wish to continue this further. I have no fear whatsoever that anything will come from his threats - just another "full-of-himself" blowhard.

I guess all I can do is be warned and stay away from his auctions - not that I would ever venture near them anyways. I can get 99% of that stuff cheaper and from the source (here) with infinitely better customer service.

And I dont know about you, but I would take my 10/100% feedback over his 240something and a jackass seller.

Someone wasnt hugged as a child. i was going to put "baby" but he clearly still is one, so it doesnt quite fit.

i've had many many run-ins with this clown. i think he uses aliases when buying and selling sometimes. however, i think his real name may be steve. i know the last name but i won't post it here. if you've sold any paper props or anything else to this clown and want to see if the last name matches up just send me a PM.

i'm fairly certain he was banned from this site at least once before. there used to be a ban list but i can't seem to find it anymore. here's a few of the names i know of that he uses on forums:

    frightstuff.com - porkchopexpress
    michael-myers.net - thephoenix
    yourprops.com - man toys

i think he's used the name redneck and i know there are a few more i'm forgetting.

I recently became a fan of nuBSG and was looking around at what was available for blasters. I came across this seller on eBay and I sent him off a few questions. Here's my back and forth with him.

    8/24 @ 11:46
    Dear auctionsherpa,

Hello. I'm interested in both the season 1 and season 2 blasters. Are these blasters by Matt W******? Do you offer combined shipping or discounts if I purchase both?

    Thank you!!

    Erik

    8/24 @ 1317
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

They are already discounted. best I could do is something off the shipping like second ships free
if int send me your paypal email I can send you the invoice with both on there combined.

    - auctionsherpa

    8/26 @ 0918
    Dear auctionsherpa,

Sorry for the delayed response. That sounds good but one of my questions wasn't answered. Are these blasters by Matt W******* (Matsuo)?

    Thanks!

    Erik

    8/26 @ 0930
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

sure I need your paypal email

    - auctionsherpa

This is where I realized he wants my PayPal email to send me an invoice outside of eBay. Probably to try to save on commission fees, but this is against eBay policy.

This is when I came here and searched for his eBay name, as well (which I probably should have done days ago! )

    8/26 @ 1148
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

Hey man 3 days now of emails do you want these or not i offered you a deal as well or are you just trolling?

    - auctionsherpa

    8/26 @ 1408
    Dear auctionsherpa,

Are you generally rude like this to potential buyers?

Based on your rudeness and the fact that you won't answer my question of "Are these blasters by Matt W******* (Matsuo)?" I'm going to pass on doing business with you.

    Have a nice day.

    8/26 @ 1415
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

nope just know how to spot a punk troll . YOU WERE BLOCKED AS BEED DISCOVERED TO BE A TROLL!

    - auctionsherpa

    8/26 @ 1416
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

your a troll go back and troll and waste other peoples time troll .

    8/26 @1417
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

    have nice day troll
don't ask questions that are troll like then troll
and you need a job to buy things troll

    8/26 @ 1418
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

    erik why do trolls troll?

This is when I called eBay and reported him for harassment and for trying to take a sale outside of eBay.

    8/26 @ 1420
    Dear auctionsherpa,

You're being reported to eBay. Please don't contact me again.

    - eriksgaragesale

    8/26 @ 1423
    Dear eriksgaragesale,

NICE try to late reported you for SPAMMING AND TROLLING!

    - auctionsherpa

In my fourteen years with eBay I've never experienced something like this. He may have nice products but this is not the way you earn a customer.

    Buyer beware.

Thanks for this info. Indeed this is not the way a honest seller deals with his customers. I would avoid this guy. Especially since he didn't respond on the most important question you asked: Are these Matt's blasters?

Dude - welcome to the club.

If I were you I'd just try and buy from Matt directly or stick to these forums. This guy is an asshat. He reported me too - but I reported him right back an sent eBay the chat transcripts. Just leave the sad little man alone.

That's exactly what I've done. And now I'm pretty much all set and will have what I'm looking for. Should have just done that in the first place. Lesson learned for me!

I don't think I tried to **** the guy off. I was nothing but cordial to him until he sent what I considered to be a rude message. I just wanted one basic question answered. If he answered the question he probably would've got a sale.

I have a lot of Stapleton pieces in my collection. However, I haven't bought every piece directly from him. Sometimes I get impatient and will buy from a third party to receive something quicker. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. But, I do like to know what I'm buying first.

Anyway, I don't want to start a fight I just wanted to share my experience with this seller so others can make their own decision as to do business with him or not.

    Oct 6, 2012 - Aliens Smartgun...on Etsy?!? #87

Found this the other day and thought folks might be interested:

I was on Etsy buying projector bulbs and other various ephemera for ray gun projects when I thought, "What the heck, let's see if there's a pulse rifle on here." A few searches later and I came upon this:

I was pretty surprised, since Etsy is more of a crafter, home-made stuff kinda site, but this prop designer has several high-quality, high priced movie firearm replicas (the smartgun is $1950.00), including a pulse rifle, smartgun and colonial marine armor, as well as Battlestar Galactica blasters and others. His profile is:

Movie Guns Inc by MovieGunsInc on Etsy

From the pictures, the build quality looks amazing. From the descriptions, the spelling quality does not.

This is the first smartgun I've seen for sale, but i can't afford it so I thought this info might be helpful to someone else!

    - JD

P.S. I am NOT "MovieGunsInc", nor am I affiliated with them in any way whatsoever.

P.P.S. I am new here, but I did use the search function to ensure I wasn't rehashing old information. However, if I missed it and it is a rehash anyway, please accept my apologies!

I don't know anything else about the guy, but I can tell you right away that the BSG season 1 blaster is a Matsuo clamshell build. It looks like an original, not a recast, and he technically doesn't state anywhere that he created these things – but it's definitely not his work. He's just marking up an originally $200 item to $450.

Nothing wrong with selling off a personal collection, but Etsy does seem like a strange place to do it.

Ahhh, thank you very much for pointing this out. In my reading of it, I took it that he/they were the actual creators of these props but it doesn't really say that. Everything is written in third person, so it's almost impossible to tell.

However, I think the photos are pretty good reference pics for some of the items.

[I was thinking this info was of general interest (and it isn't me selling or buying) so I posted here instead of the Junkyard. I hope I haven't put my foot/keyboard in my mouth with my first real post!]

Did any of you check out his postal rates?
I was interested in this, "Aliens M41-A Pulse Rifle Manuel Data Card sheet rare must see Ripley prop"! Thought it might go great with my Pulse Rifle.
But I am sure I have seen this before just can't remember where. Probably on this site, maybe the free paper prop thread or for sale by a member! (I will do a search to see if I am right)
Anyway he is asking $19.99 USD which I guess isn't to bad but then I saw the postage, United States $12.96 USD & Everywhere Else $50.00 USD!
Are these people crazy? $50 to mail a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper WLF!!! Even the $12.96 seems a little steep to me!

Mmm, the Loki Masks on that site look amazing. But if the guy is a recaster, does someone know where I can find a similar Loki Mask? The sculpt of the masks on that site look way better than the masks found on the evil bay...

His mask is also on the bay under the account of auroraproject2011, so it's defenitely the same guy...
