Jun 28, 2012 - Anyone have a Daft Punk stl. file lying around? #1

So I would like to be able get an stl. file of a Daft Punk helmet (either one) and throw it into 123D Make, and build a model that I can fiberglass/bondo things up and get a cast of it. It would be preferably NOT hollow, but any help appreciated!
    Best regards, Xillra

Have you thought about doing a pepakura one?

Are you asking for a free file? If so, good luck, but I doubt you'll have much luck...especially on a solid/non-hollow model.

If you're asking to buy a file, this belongs in the Junkyard.

Is there a particular reason you're looking to print the helmet rather than any other construction method?

    Good luck in your venture.

Okay... I may have to make the model myself once I get my new computer.
I don't actually plan to print my helmets (as in a 3D printer) but I plan on using 123D Make:
Autodesk 123D - Personal Fabrication, 3D Printing, and Making Products and Services
which is a software developed my AutoDesk to make 3D objects by stacking pieces of foamcore (my idea)/cardboard together to make an object. Which sounds like a much more solid object to work on without covering almost every thing with bondo and such; which would in turn add maybe half an inch to it - making it not an exact replica.
And no, I wasn't trying to buy anything - just trying to trick an stl. file off an on coming pedestrian :3 haha

Yes, but if you look at my prev. message to Nick 123D make would make for a much sturdier "mother model".

123d make is awesome. it automatically generates slices for you and will give you files to lasercut out. then you just stack up the slices. way better than pepakura. 3d printing the model too is awesome, if you've got your own makerbot
