Anyone from the East Coast Have any Tables at Dragon Con 2011?

This is not a sales thread or an attempt to try to sell items. 2 of the 3 items that will be discussed in this thread have been in the Junkyard for weeks so most regular members probably already know about them.

The purpose of this thread is to see if there is anyone willing to sell some large and or pricey items for me at Dragon Con.

Why would anyone want to do this for me or others????

I'm thinking that the larger items would make a great back drop for your sales area and the variety could generate more traffic for your tables.



To be more specific, this thread is to determine 2 things:

1. Find a reputable person on the east coast willing to sell my items at their tables at Dragon Con
2. Determine if I will be able to get what I want, plus enough to cover the sales commission of the person selling the items

I can actually see this a good opportunity for others to chime in and seek assistance from the same person. For instance, lets say someone offers to do this for me and asks for a 25% commission. Well, in the course of this thread you realize that you have an large or expensive item you want to sell. You could also ask the person if they can accommodate you.

Or it could go way off track and a west coast connection could be discussed for our west cost members.


So please do not try to read more into this thread then what I just posted

I hope the mods understand the nature of this thread and don't just arbitrarily move it to the Junkyard because they think it's an attempt to get exposure to sell items.



Now on to the discussion.


If you are going to have tables set up at Dragon con, live on the east coast, preferably north of North Carolina and can accommodate the below listed items post below.

The idea is that as you drive past my city to get to D-con we meet up on I-95 and I transfer my items to you.

Worst case scenario, if you live south of me, we can meet half way prior to your trip.

Details such a your sales percentage and price negotiating ability can be worked out once we enter into an agreement.




I also need to determine if this is even worth the effort.

I would like to get a certain amount for my items. I'm thinking that to make this attractive to a seller they will need to get about a 25% commission, unless I am way of base.

So I need to know if the below list items could be sold at D-con for the prices I want to get.

I have only been to one D-Con and it was about 9 years ago, so I don’t know the current market.

If you have a lot of experience at D-con please express any information you have below, you won’t hurt my feelings.


Here is a short list of items I want to sell with the price I want to get and the price with an approximate 25% commission tacked on:

• Studio Scale Steve Neisen Tie Fighter $1250 / $1500
• 1:1 Scale Block Buster Yoda $400 / $500
• Full Size R2D2 Drink Cooler $400 / $500

The Yoda and R2 cooler are large so I'm looking for someone that's taking a large SUV, Van or trailer to D-con.



So am I crazy, way off base or could this be worth the effort?

Some one has to have some tables at D-con this year?
