Aliens Pulse Rife Questions

I recently purchased a Aliens Pulse Rifle.
The base seems to be an Tokyo Marui M1A1. At least the magazine has Tokyo Marui written on it. The whole gun is of metal. Except the grip, of course, the green mainbody and the grenade launcher underbarrel with handle are also plastic.
I´m a bit confused what version this might be.
The Snow Wolf or Matrix ones for example seem to have more plastic parts. And also different grenade inside the launcher. They also aren´t aged like this one. What is the difference between the Matrix and Snow Wolf version anyways? I can´t spot any difference on photos?
Mine seems to have more metal parts than those 2. Like the front cap, for example. (See red markings on photo)
mPulse01.jpg Yellow is Plastic.
I also wasn´t able to connect a airsoft battery. The other ones seem to be able to be opened in front, where you could pull out the cap in front of the barrels. But I can´t move it at all on my pulse rifle. Maybe stuck. But I didn´t want to break anything, of course.
I would be interested what version I got there? What is the about value of it? And how/where to open and install the battery? I don´t want to use it for airsoft games, of course! Just curious about to try the functionality
I thought it might be the one they sold on Spaceart.de a couple years ago. Alien 2: M41A Pulse Rifle - High End Edition » SPACEart
But the paintjob looks different. And not sure if this underbarrel Spas12 parts are also plastic, like mine. Might be a repainted version of the Snow Wolf or Matrix there, though.
I was wondering, because this is the part that would make a big difference if it was metal instead of plastic, would it be able to use a real Spas12 underbarrel for the Pulse rifle? Would it fit? Or is there maybe a metal part available for the airsoft guns or prop guns?
Thanks in Advance!

You have an original G+P Pulse Rifle kit attached to a marui thompson.

It has been weathered, and the red shot gun shell has been replaced with a uscm grenade.

Matrix + Snow Wolf are a knock off of this kit.

Thanks for the reply! Makes sense, so the Matrix and Snow Wolf are knock offs the original kit? But the kit had a few more metal parts (like the tip cap)?
Are the Grenades still available somewhere? Would be nice to replace it because looks more accurate than the one in the gun.

And if anyone could help with a SPAS12 cage, would be very appreciated!!! I guess it will be kinda impossible to get hands on one here in Germany. I saw some instructions and it seems that it would fit the gun after a few modifications: The Aliens Legacy ? View topic - SPAS12 cage... where to cut? (pic intensive)

There were only one man still made those, but not sure if he is doing anymore , and he is SD Studios , here on the RPF.....I purchased several from him a few years back...they actually were machined aluminum ,and it was equipped with the spring loaded push button on the top of the grenades....I used to have that G&P version years ago...many years ago...its the first generation airsoft to be made....rare gun....but the others were copy's nowadays of the G&P version you presently have !!!.....I actually have gotten both of my Spas 12 cages from overseas....you can get those sometimes here on the RPF, and Ebay , once in a bluemoon...and they are expensive...it cost more to get one of those nowadays , then it does to buy a whole airsoft Matrix Pulse rifle....rare and people know it....pricey !!!....I have built one hero metal version and still acquiring parts to build me a 2nd...sometime this year...I hope...LOL....good luck on your find....however the real spas cage is slightly bigger than an airsoft grenade launcher ....several modification would have to change, but it can be done...several here have attempted it here on the RPF !!! Lots of luck...Guy

Thanks for the info. I was expecting it would become complicated to get one of these cages. Too bad that the manufacturer doesn´t just sell spare parts.
I once saw oneof the aluminuim grenades on ebay. unfortunately I didn´t get it back then. maybe I´ll be lucky sometime again.
Does anyone have info on the quality of the spatcave resin grenades? They look not bad and the aluminum powder inside the resin sounds interesting. I wonder if polishing really mades it look like metal? the last photo looks quite good.
Allthough it misses the detailed bottom like the alu one, of course. And the trigger.

The Snow Wolf PR is a modified copy of the original G&P kit. There were a few small design changes made. The Matrix PR is the Snow Wolf. Snow Wolf is printed on the inside of the shrouds on all Matrix PR's. Evike is just selling Snow Wolf's and rebranding the PR with their name. The front block on the SW is also metal, just like the original G&P kit. The easiest way to tell a G&P from a Snow Wolf/Matrix is that the latter has very, very dark green metal parts instead of black like the G&P.

Spats alumi-resin grenades are nice (I've had several). They do polish up well and look great. They will not look like a real aluminum grenade, but do look 100% better than a silver painted resin grenade.

Stay away from the guy on ebay selling them for $50 or whatever. They are recasts of Spats grenade in my opinion.

Thanks for the info! I see. Mine is pure black, burnished metal. So I think it must be the original Kit.
Sounds good with the Spat grenade. I was thinking to cut the trigger, drill a hole and pot the trigger in again with a spring.
And the bottom also drill a hole, insert a copper bolt and put a metal plate with hole on the bottom where I can etch in the text. Afterwards the grenade would look same good as the SW original, I think. The main "problem" is the low dertailed bottom.

Hi, I am looking for the Pulse rifle ammo counter and sound board, haven't had much luck locating many places where I can buy them from apart from Hyperdyne. I had purchased a small counter board from Majenko (see the link below) but from what I understand it wouldn't be compatible with soundboards like the Hyperdyne ones, plus seeing as I am pretty ignorant when it comes to electronics, I think its wise for me to seek advice from people who know more than me about it. So my question is, does anyone know if there is a workaround that I can incorporate a sound board with my current ammo counter, if not, can anyone suggest outlets where I can buy an ammo counter and sound board that are compatible. Many thanks in advance.

I've got my FX module now, as always, a pleasure to deal with Matt and the board is nice. I've used the micro counter in past builds and this is the first time I will attempt to use the FX module which will be a tad more complicated, plus I am what can only be described as a noob when it comes to electronics :). I'd just like to ask how you put it all together and if you have any tips and suggestions especially regarding the battery and how to wire it up to the board, I had tried to click on the link you created to show this section of your impressive build but for some reason the thread doesn't seem to be there anymore. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just read through the thread, I think I'm going to take your lead on how to install the board into the rifle. By the way I am very impressed with your build, it's very tidy and has been completed very cleverly. I may spring power my GL now seeing as it looks relatively straightforward to do. Is the FX board running off the Tenergy 9.6v battery or the 9v in the mag well? I had planned on using a 7.2volt RC car battery and so buy the connector for it and ire that into the FX module so that I can take the battery out for charging, did you use that method? That's the only thing that's causing me any real concern, probably moreso because of my limited knowledge of electronics, I obviously don't want to make any mistakes with it so any pointers in that regard would be most appreciative :)
I had planned to put my speaker in the GL and hollow out the vents but I haven't had a chance yet to see for myself if it will even fit, I'm still waiting on my Snow Wolf to arrive, it should in the next few days, in the meantime I am still working on a recast of an Icons pulse rifle and after hollowing out the GL section in that I do think it may just fit if only barely. Sadly the recast I had bought was of a pretty poor casting quality and parts like the stock were warped so I don't think that I will be putting much more of my time and money into that one but will rather concentrate on the Snow Wolf once it's here.

Thanks for the compliments on the build.

The one issue with my build was I started all the mods with the idea to keep it airsoft, like going thru the trouble to have my barrel custom threaded to fit the Tracer Unit. Then I found Majenko's awesome board and changed directions with the build. If I had planned to go full lights and sounds from the beginning I would have built the gun differently. But, the upside is that there are mods that people building an airsoft version or a "lights and sounds" version can benefit from in my threads I guess.

The PR was built to run off the airsoft battery pack. However, if I had to do it all over again (and I'm going to, hint, hint) I would use a smaller, rechargeable battery, probably Li-Ion, from the RC car hobby. They have a huge selection of different shaped and sized batteries to choose from.

And yeah, I took a lot of flak over adding that spring to the GL! LOL! I was told "if it were real, it wouldn't be spring....blah blah blah...." Well you know what? It gives some weight and character to moving that pump handle and it was my build, so there! LoL! And I'll do that again too.

My idea is to hopefully leave the snow wolf unharmed and make a silicone mold of it in sections and build up a resin one that I can hopefully mechanize with some airsoft Thompson parts I have lying around, that way I can sell on the Snow Wolf once I am finished with it (or keep it for myself if I like it which will probably happen and that way I will have 2!). I've developed some weird need to have an olive drab PR and a brown bess one! Still no closer to finding a suitable brown color though, I think I will have to resort to importing from the US but if that's what it takes to get it all done right then that is what I will do :)

The one thing that bothers me about the standard Snow Wolf (having seen stock photos) is the GL vent color, it doesn't seem too nice, so if I do keep it then I will need to sort that out. I noticed you have painted yours so I wanted to ask if you are getting any scratches or scuffs in the paint work when you pump the GL?
