I just finished using Novus #2 scratch remover. It's very slightly abrasive and it cleaned off the mark quite handily. As the handle is painted, I used it on the rest of the handle as well so it would match the sheen of the cleaned off area and it looks great. You can actually see more of the braid(?) detail that they were trying for. Still, I should not have had to try this. At least it worked.
Cheers,

Kevin,

Can you show at least an after pic? Yours may not have bonded into the paint as much when drying during shipment (supposition). Mine took some pressure to take away the oval of styro material after it was decomposed. Sounds like you have a solution which keeps you out of the dozen month journey of hassles I'm going to face.

Pathetic.

I heard they are trying to do fewer props that have electronic effects because they don't want to deal with problems that arise from faulty electronics. And now they are having trouble simply making a sword.

Maybe you should not try and clean it up. MR may give you a hassle over replacing it if you try and fix an error that should have never gone out the door.

I've had some issues with some products too. Do not handle them without cotton gloves, do not polish them (I use a 12V air compressor to remove dust) and remember, these are for show only.

This is true (I pondered the same thing, but waiting 10-12 months for correction prompted a try), but if it was an easy fix, they should be greatful that an expensive series of transactions (expensive more form a labor hour & postage perspective) could be avoided. Since I have the pics, it's a question if the customer satisfaction guarantee is really there. They usually come through if you are persistent and like pulling teeth.

Hi Rudolph,

I am so sorry to hear about your sword. We will happily replace it for you. This is actually the first I have heard of this so I don't think it is a widespread problem.

Please send us an email to customerservice@masterreplicas.com and we will take care of it right away for you.

Amy

Well, I was slightly underwhelmed with the Narnia sword, but since I like most all MR stuff I ordered the Sparrow sword. #50 out of 3000.

Of course the typical attention MR places on presentation is here in a 30 pound box, but I search for the sword amongs the styrafoam. It's dwarfsized next to the huge framed display panel but I see a blemish on the handle. It's obvious that the painting of the faux grain was wet when placed into the box.

OK, it looks bad but I'm sure the finish is good. I put a little goof off on a rag and gently dap off the styrafoam. well all the pain on the front side of the handle comes off immediately. I'll post pics of that later.

WHY? The quality control CURSE continues

I have mine on the way from USA to Spain...

Let's see if mine is ok ... It's a shame this kind of things happen... These pieces are very expensive and there must be NO PROBLEM at all with them...

Now my question is... If I got a damage sword like that... and need a replacement... Who would cover the shipping cost??? (from my home to MR, and from MR to my hoe ?? ) ...

That is a question is killing me !!! (everytime I buy something from MR, I dont stop praying until it arrives and see is ok ... This shouldnt be this way) .

If the product arrived damaged, then it should fall upon the company to have it shipped both ways.
In my opinion.

Hello!

If a product is defective in any way Master Replicas will send you a shipping label to send it back to us and then we will send you another. All shipping costs are incurred by us, not by the customer.

Hey, Thanks for your answer about this...

This was something I was really worry about !!! Now I feel a little better.

In any case, I really hope I would never had to "check" that for my own (I guess you understand me).

Thanks again...

And good luck with that sword, hope you get the replacement soon

Ben.
