Not that one...
This one:
Has anyone done one of these?
I don't think I've ever seen someone tackle this one. I've always been interested in its design, it's an odd phone. It kind of reminds me of a rubber skirting of some sort, but I could be way off.
Did you make that, or was it a kit purchased? Details please, if you don't mind sharing, this is one piece I've been trying to track for a while.![]()
I likes the obscure!
Anyone have this on BluRay that can cap the scenes with the phone?
Yah, DarcJedi found the right phone that was used to make the Korben phone. That guy has done some amazing research in his time, and I'm always impressed with his discoveries.
The ribbed part of the phone on the back was never found, but Jeff scratch built one that (IMHO) matched up nicely to all the screen caps. i think the bottleneck on offering a kit was recreating the buttons. on the phone, they are screen printed rubber, which is hard to recreate.
Still, the phones aren't impossible to find, though they're not exactly commonplace. Since it was Jeffs discovery, I'll leave it up to him to reveal the model if he choses to. They did mod the phone pretty heavily, but nothing that can't be recreated with a band saw and some glue. the HD version of the film shows where they made the cuts and everything.
Hopefully someone can reveal some information on the found part(s), this is one prop that has always baffled me for its odd design.
Kinda off topic, but did anyone notice the four cigarettes next to Bruce Willis? Most of the cigarette are the filter!
Speaking of which, does anyone have the matchbox he uses?

Motorola 8500X and you have to butcher it all to heck. I hate secrets.....
Damn, I was just getting ready to show mine off.
Just figured out what it was last week and found one.
Im going to start hacking it up soon!
I just picked up a brick phone as well.
Anyone finished a conversion yet?
Is the back of the phone custom made or is it the back of the original Motorola phone with grooves cut out?
