100% scale Wall-E Build

Hello my name is Dan and im from Wisconsin. Ive been building star wars props and costumes for a while now and ive always wanted to build the wall-e robot so i started about a month a go and ive gotten a pretty good start so far. Body is all put together ecxcpet for some detail that i wanted to wait untill i did the final sanding job on it and then put that stuff on. The arms are all mocked up and built and so is the head and neck. Im not happy with the eyes so when i get to sanding that up ill redo them. So here are some pictures so far.

Awesome! Nothing beats building something from wood. I'd rather my shop smell like sawdust than fiberglass any day.

Looks sweet. MDF is definitely the way to go for Wall-E. are you doing the wheels our leaving him in his box form?

Looks great! What are you using for reference? It gas been ages since I logged onto the Wall*E builders forum. I was lucky enough to acquire a theatre Wall*E but he is in desperate need of repair. Now that I have seen this, I might scrap that plan and go for wood!

I was just about to ask if this was going to me R/Ced. That is going to be very impressive.

Stick a circular saw and flipper on it and get it into robot wars

For reference im using the yahoo group plans. It isnt 100% accurate but i want it more functional with the front door opening so i can put a compact cube inside so it looks like he did it. Plus with the back door opening so i can put batteries and all the other stuff in it for easy access. The way i make stuff is i like to make stuff more compact with more functions for different display uses. The way i made the neck and head is really nice becuase it very strong and it slides off for when i transport it.

I was going to ask the same Q as Jaybible...

To know that this will actually be mobile moves it another notch of awesomeness!!!

Well i got all the detail done for the actual body and got it sanded and primed. Im hoping this week i will be able to finish the final paint job on it.

oh man, this is really coming along nicely! after building R2 I showed my wife a couple WALL-E builds and she said she'd like one... just what I need, another build project even actually endorsed by my wife!
