At Last well almost... but not quite but incredibly nearly finished ESB Yoda sculpt.
I've tried to capture the feel of the Freeborn Yoda and imagining how he'd have sculpted this thing... after all its not a real thing so the rules differ from some of the ultra realistic things I'm working on at the moment.. The lines should look like they were carved in clay afterall
Let me know what you think, guys... Its still not to late to smash the whole thing up and start again...

It looks incredible, as with all your work you've done.
How is this different than the one GINO displayed fully dressed up? Is this an entirely different sculpt?
it's horrible - not even worth the effort of smashing it. Box it up and send it to me..
Actually it's quite amazing. I didn't realize that Yoda's neck was so thin.
Since you're probably looking for constructive criticism I think the nostrils can be slightly bigger/flatter. The actual bulb of the nose is good though.
Plus there are two bumps in between yoda's eyebrows. I think the bump closer to the right eyebrow should be slightly larger than the left bump.
All really minor minor stuff. It's quite excellent.

it looks pretty darn accurate. Although without pictures to compare, it's hard to tell. I say awesome job though!
All I can say, is MAGIC. Only explanation of what you've achieved with this. Absolutely spot on!

Its a lot different. The whole arrangement of the eyelids and eyebrows for instance. Gino made a fantastic job out of a head that was less accurate than this. Maybe he might be up for doing this one sometime.

Now, theres something about the 2D image compared to seeing the thing on 3D, so to speak, that you can never see in stills only moving film. Its the way the folds of the eyelids jut into the recesses at the bottom of the eyebrow bumps. You can only see it briefly in some images and its an incredible complex form to capture and difficult to notice... This is what really makes this sculpt for me.
All I can say is incredible! A wonderful looking sculpture.
Well, clearly you are in a league I have never even had the privilege of seeing in person. There have been several instances on my short time on the RPF where I have been instantly aware that I'm not dealing with just some incredibly talented amateur but a full blown "holy *****" pro.
This is one of those instances.
And even though those who might not be as talented may certainly give valid criticism, I have none to offer. It looks outstanding and the quality is chilling. I look at Freeborn's Yoda and this and I'm having a hard time perceiving noticeable differences (and this is someone who labored over the nuances of the under-skull of a Chewbacca head).
So my question: will you be offering copies for sale? Because I am 2 months away from embarking on my own Yoda sculpt (which wouldn't be in the same stratosphere as yours) in hopes that I can modify it to work on a stripped down Robo-Sapien Chimpanzee head I have so we can have an animatronic Yoda for our floats, but I'd sure rather use yours! Do let us know if you are considering casting it and making latex copies.
If I never get another bust of a character from Star Wars, this is the only one I need to have. I am so impressed by the likeness. It captures the essence of the character even more than anything LFL has tried to do since ESB/ROTJ. I wish I had one of these. I find your Emperor to be equally stunning.
EXACTLY! Jeez, they scour the talent pools, pay big bucks and provide top flight facilities and materials and nothing they have done in the past 15 years, in latex or CGI, comes even close to capturing what Cyberman has. Bravo.animetronic said:

You never guess what... I've seen a few minor tweaks even since taking these pics... but I'll get them sorted very soon and take a number of comparison pics to show how closely this thing matches up with the screen original.

Cyberman, that looks great. I keep seeing a deeper crease below the right side of his mouth (Yoda's right) connecting to the corner of his mouth. If you deepen that slightly I think you have it. The only other issue I see if the outside of the nose on Yoda's right side, needs to be slightly more bulbous (wider) almost connecting to the crease on that side. Just the small rounded part to the right of his nostril. Again, Lookin great!!!
