Hi Guys,

Here are some renders of my AT-DP Pilot helmet model that I've been working on for 3D printing. I did my best to achieve both a high level of accuracy and versatile design functionality.

This is by far one of my favorite designs from the series and is very reminiscent of the late and great Ralph McQuarrie Snowtrooper concept. There are all kinds of subtle references to the Original Trilogy costumes as well, such as the cogs on the side of the helmet that appear to be similar to the one on the Imperial Officer hat.

This is wonderful.
I had recently put a request in JFcustoms request thread for an Imperial Cadet helmet, which is very similar to this one.
Any chance this will be available?

I'm curious... I know you sell pep versions of your models, but do you have versions like this that are 3D-printing-ready? With thicknesses and such, or broken down into subassemblies...

Thank you! I've been eager to make this helmet since first seeing it in Spark of Rebellion.

Yes, I have high-resolution 3D print files of most everything I model.

Awesome. I was wondering why nobody was starting to make these. It would be cool to have all the helmets ezra collects

Thanks, I was thinking along similar lines of having a display shelf full with all of the Rebels helmets.

Here’s the AT-DP helmet assembled for a quick size comparison between the TFA Stormtrooper helmet. All of the main pieces are now printed and primed. With a little more fine-tuning they will be ready for molding soon.

If you start a run count me in i already have the new stormtrooper
helmet in proses so this will be a must have foe my prop room !!!

The helmet master is now finished and molding has begun. Here's the first cast of many. I'll be casting more helmets this week.

Looking awesome. If you ever do a run of this I would totally be in for one. :)

Out of curiosity, did you rotocast the helmet pull? If so, did you do it by hand or with a machine? I'm going to have to rotocast a couple props that I've been working on but I've never done it before so I always look for more information. Heh heh.

Thanks, I do happen to be doing a run of these. Please check the project runs in the classifieds for more details. The helmet was in fact rotocast by hand, 'solo'. A fully operational roto-casting machine would be more convenient, but's it's fun sloshing all of that plastic around.

Interesting. When I get to casting my stuff, any chance I might be able to ask you a few questions if I have them? About rotocasting by hand, that is.
