Pepakura Stormtrooper Helmet

Well, Hello

Building my first pepakura thing ever annnnnndd i choose a Stormtrooper Helmet. Im new to all this and i hope i can get your help. Im strugling just to get over the fold, glue and assemble part. Dont know how to assemble it, if top first or what. Also i cant seem to find numbers to match for example the dome to imediatly bellow piece. Im building my second one cuz i completly botched my first. I wasnt doing valley folds, only mountains. I wont show my first one cause its to embarassing. But here are the new one, only have the dome yet. Using space cowboy pdf file.

This is my first problem and it happens trough out all my build.
How to attach these to pieces? There are no numbers to match...

Well, il keep assembeling parts between one another. Il have this already and dont know if i attached them to de dome if it will warp because im missing something or not so next im glueing (is this a word?) the lower parts of the face. Thanks.

On this piece, as in all others, there are no numbers and no glue tabs. I read that initial spacecowboy design didnt have these tabs but i thouth it was on the piece itself and not between diferent pieces. Now im leaving some room when i cut so as i can glue the diferent pieces.

Still dont know if this is the right thing to do, im trying to reach out, iv started this thread and iv send of couple of PM's but iv got no answer. Some 200 people seen this thread but so far...nothing.

Also, english is not my native language so sorry

You are on the right road to keep some "virtual tabs" because the original design consists of some pieces that got no connection to each other in the designer, so there are missing tabs.

And this is where its most likely to fail and warp the full build. Now i only cut and fold every individual piece after looking it extensively on the pepakura software viewer.

Dont really know how this one happened. These to pieces conect in designer but on th build theres a gap. Gonna have to make an insert with paper as so i can reach the eyes. I dont know how you people cut, fold, glue, and assemble this so fast. Iv been doing this for a week :/

Your dome is a little to big (got the same problem), and it would be easier to assemble the whole faceplate first, an leave an easy to fill gap with a single strip of paper under the ears instead of the "teardrops"

Well, iv been tryin' to learn from somebody how to assemble this. As i couldnt found how, iv started by myself. Glueing individual pieces and then glueing from the dome down, first the eyes then the mullet then the side faces... Just everrything that goes together as to not lose my reference. And now i get this, its easy fixable but hope something worse dont come along.

i built my lid twice ( First time started with dome and second time started with face ) and both times had a gap in exactly the same place. I don't know of there's a couple of pieces missing in the pep file, although others have seemed to build them ok. I eventually built my third using Fierfek's version which worked great.

Whats the lid?

They both seem ok to me, you were able to build them allright. Do you have the Fierfek file?

Here are some pictures of mine, tell me what you think, is it better to build another one? Im thinking of puting some chinese sticks inside as to push the nose out a little and gonna ad some insers of papper to cover all the holes. This already as a sticl inside.

The Lid is what you're building, also called a helmet or a bucket. Have just read a comment from Spacecowboy and the missing parts are supposed to be there, thats how the real ones are made. The space goes under the headphone parts so you don't see it.

On the pepakura design those two piece connect so pff.. lol. Im beyond that now, now i just want to make a good build for the resin stage.

Lol, yes they do look like they connect in the pep file, i just added a piece to fill the gap when i did mine

Thats what im doing but im not feeling good about it.. I think this is just gonna bomb in the resin stage :/ Really envy your build!

Thank you, i have the full suit built. waiting to find some resin and glass mat. I made a few mistakes with my first few pep builds but it just needs a little practice

Thats the thing, i think if i dont do it now, ill never do it so.. let's see.

Just bought this prestolith special Polyester Resin - motip-dupli.de for the resin and this Bustin / Ziur 2 for the bondo phase. Dont know if they are the right choice but it was all that was available in my local store. It was cheap tho.

Always wear respirators for organic fumes when you use your polyester resin! (And bondo)

There is an epoxy resin available from prestolith also, with less toxic fumes, maybe a bit more expensive....
