MY STAR WARS PROP ROOM AS OF AUG 2014

Slideshow

Original post:

My Prop Room used to also be my home office. See my previous show-off post: My Star Wars Prop Room/ Home Office

However, because of the location in the house myself and the kids tended not to utilize that computer and opted to utilize my laptop. So the living room, which hardly was used became a sitting room/study.

Now my room is a strictly a Star Wars Room. The problem is that I am very particular about how my items are displayed. The cabinets I have were okay for what I used to have years ago, but now they are very restrictive. I want to replace them with 3 or 4 Ikea glass cabinets. I hate glass cabinets but it is really the only way to go to show off the props.
And the desk... sigh... if a desk is not being used as a desk, then it should not be there. I feel very white trash using a desk as a shelf unit. However, my desire to fund prop projects takes up the funds for redecorating. Plus I would love to replace the blinds with plantation shutters.

A couple of years ago, I became very depressed with my prop collection. It seemed very stale and most of what I had bought in recent years tended to be other Star Wars collectibles, not prop related, So I started refocusing my efforts. Got rid of props and collectibles that I had no desire to keep and reinvest the funds into new props. You will note that I am struggling to make room. I had to remove the cushion for bench seating an utilize it as shelf space.

Thanks guys.

Very cool collection man!! I love the helmet rack. And the little Ewok village in the corner. My son would go ape over that.

Ben

i have about 4 or 5 more of those vintage Ewoks in the shed. I guess should try to find room for them.

FYI: the center fx lightsaber is the Kit Fisti with removable blade... And it is green even though the picture makes it look blue. It's like the special edition but in reverse. :p

Oh man... nice! I also lust after that Leia Print. I have one 11x14 but not signed.

i got that for myself last December. That is my favorite shot of Leia. Last year official pix had her do a signing. However, they do not carry that picture in their stock. I found large file on the net and had it printed locally to 11x14 then sent it in for the personalized autograph. I got a little giddy when I saw she wrote "love" on it. :love

Lol... did the SAME thing...

Philip said that print will never see the light of day again officially. They did a run of it signed and once sold out,... that was it. The print he has in his collection is stunning... it's huge and super pretty...

That's where I saw it too. :). Got to see his collection in summer of 2012. If I remember correctly, it is a square photo with square matte and frame but positioned as a diamond configuration.

yeah square... next to the sam Jackson one... both are awesome. It's not diamond displayed though... I have a pic of it... just squared up next to a luke and mace

wow, awesome collection! My favourite pieces in here are the Carrie Fisher pic with signature, the Greedo Killer, Boba Fetts gun, and most of your lightsabers.
the Greedo Killer and Boba Fetts gun seemed to be made out of original parts, right?

Greedo Killer was a commision, built by Scottjua (there´s a separate thread about it) and the EE-3 seems to be a -modified?- MR.

FYI: those who looked at my older photos will note the life size Wicket is gone. I am currently on the list to replace him with a space bear. Hopefully I will have it in a couple months.

Ultimately, I would like to be able be able to display the non cased sabers more prominently and get the blasters not in cases on a wall or stands.

I've vet also been thinking of completely covering the on wall with the four lithos completely with other pictures/art. I have a good amount of autograph photos that are stored away in my closet.

I also would like a better way to showcase my belts and holsters. I have an Obi The Phantom Menace belt and an upcoming Anovos Solo rig that will need a place to go. A long time ago I had a coat/rack for items like that. I may have to do that again.

Hey, awesome collection! What are those wavy vertical stands you're using for your static lightsaber props?
