Fetts $25 Iron Man - Mark V Suit Tutorial

All done with Iron Man? Awesome job on this. Here's your next challange... Robocop. Annnnnd Go.....

Hmmm.... I think I may need to see if the Robocop Pep could be used this way..........

To quote the Joker " And here we go!"

Most awesome Fetts! I've loved this thread because I wanted to try and make more advanced armor but until I joined this site most people were hesistant to go into any real detail haha. And about the pep files for the other armors, when I search for it I get linked to another site (I forget the name, the 405th I think), but from what I've seen the site is down. Is there any other way we can go about getting the files (for any of the armor sets)? Many thanks for all the info you've gotten for us and looking forward to all your future work!!

First, welcome to the RPF!

If you need pep files, which I think you are asking for, Finhead made some great files available in the first post of his fantastic pep build thread.

hope this helps,

Most awesome! Many thanks, I cant believe I overlooked this haha! I've decided since I have most of the different armors, I'm gonna work on a trial model which will be a cross between Guyver and Iron man (both mark IV & V), just because it'll give me a chance to work on all the different patterns at once! Will definitely post pics once I really get into it, cause it will be odd to say the least!

Hey all I haven't been on in a while. Still nursing the foot, but I wanted to see how everyones costumes were coming along.

What about using hot melt glue as filler or to add extra detail? It remains flexible after it solidifies, so the only issue would be whether or not it will adhere well to the plastic being used. Hot glue also has the advantages of being widely available, cheap, and relatively easy to work with – all of which seem to be themes for this thread.

prob digging up old skeletons here, but if you sand the surface before using the hot gluegun, the surface might give some extra adhesion...

also gunna use this method for a MK VI armor seeing as im looking for a way to keep costs pretty low ^_^

just wanted to say thank you to all involved in this particular thread. After reading through all this information, I decided to create a lifesize suit of armor for my wife's classroom. If it had not been for this thread, I would have never gotten the idea...

thanks again,
Tommy

I'm working on this build. Can someone outline the template back pieces on this picture? I'm having trouble seeing where they go.

A lot of people have been saying they use hot glue to hold the plastic together however, it seems to fall apart, even after sanding. Any other ideas for a more study connection?

brightened and raised the contrast. Does this help any? I really dont feel like outlining every piece but hopefully you can see them better now?
Let me know if this helps. If not Ill try something different

The only pieces I've hot-glued are the treads on the chest, everything else I've used rivets for. I'm starting to sweat making Halloween weekend though, I'm struggling a little with assembling the legs.

I purchased a red long sleeved athletic shirt (similar to UnderArmor) for underneath the costume, not sure what to do for pants yet. I may have to settle for the grey sweats I found today if I can't find red.

Thanks:cool. I think I see where the heart-shaped center piece goes with the "wings" below it. Now I can get crackin' on the back.
