Cap shield help

I need some assistance

I purchased a shield from here a couple years ago. While it is extremely well made I have had some trouble with the paint. I might be wrong in saying this but it appears the gloss coat did not fully dry before It was shipped. It was also shipped in the middle of winter which may not have helped

The shield has a foggy look to it, with little spots where the gloss didn't fully dry. This is more noticeable on the silver ring.

I may have made it worse as well by trying to remove the gloss coat with some very fine sand paper. The shield scratched easy and well needless to say it looks worse than when I started

What would you guys recommend I do, or should I just get it professionally reprinted?

Go for the professional repaint, you wont be sorry.

Sounds like a complete stripping for sure. If you are at all comfortable with a can of spray paint it might be worth a try to do it yourself. There's lots of threads here, especially this one: http://www.therpf.com/f78/im-painting-captain-america-shield-thread-152038/ that can help you.

Does anyone know someone who would do the repainting? I'm pretty confident I would mess it up if I tried
