Avengers 2 Ironman build

So in antisipation of the upcomeing movie. i have begun building an updated Mark 42 style armor. Starting with the inner workings of the suit im building to be removed in parts to reveal the workings below. As i have just about finished with the inner suit i felt it was time to start sharing what i have so far

If this is the inside I can't wait to see how the outside looks!

Would you like to share with us what your inner suit is made of, how you did it and if the pattern is available to share with the masses?

We'd love to see some progressive build photographs.

woah this is so cool i've never seen someone do the inside like that. I'd love to try to follow in your footsteps for my next build. More details please!
 
Oh snap! I clicked the thread expecting plans or something like that, simply because most didn't know what suit was actually going to be used in Avengers 2 until the trailer, and that only came out a while ago. Great work! Seriously, amazing job! I agree with sandbagger though, what is it mad of? It looks like metal... I cannot wait to see the end result! Amazing job!
 
Thanks for the support and the intrest. i built it all freehand. though the few repeating parts on the suit i did make patterns for. though to most they might be usless. randome shapes and such. i started with a spandex body suit. all the parts are 3mm foam, soaked in liquid latex. ill throw some progress pics of the build. im airbrushing everything, it helps with the metalic look of it, using pearl colors. at all the connection points i added rivits and left them free flowing so they can pivit as nessisary, this eleveated the problem of ripping when moveing around in the suit. many of the small detail parts are eather sculpted or just odds and ends were used to get the look i needed

The outer suit will attatch at points all around the inner suit. alowing me to remove diverent levels of the suit at diferent times. all the lighting effects are built into the inner suit and powered from the main arc reactor. The main boots however will have there own powersorse for the boot thrusters, as i had to totaly custome builde them starting with casting the sole. an early test set me at 7' 2" when in what will eventualy be full suit. Thus i am haveing to build some exo skeletal parts to attatch between the under and outer suit so i move correctly. as im only 6'. this is also forcing me to have to custom correct much of the way im building the outer so that it actualy will work the way i need it to.
