Another Groot build from a tall fella

hey guys and gals, I've decided to start a Groot after being inspired by so many cool builds already started. I was a bit apprehensive at first, considering i don't do a lot of free hand costumes but this one got my attention. i made the base body shape from the foam mats and glued foam pipe insulators from the plumbing section of Lowes for the roots and under structure. i'll post what I've got so far...

here is the head, i used 10mm thick foam mat so i'd be able to "sculpt" into the foam itself, which is surprisingly easy to do.

here is the upper torso hanging out on the ground, i think the proportions will work pretty well...

made a trip to Lowes yesterday for supplies, starting to build the stilts tonight. I'm going for a 12" rise added to my height of 6'4" plus the extra bit on the top of the head should put me close to 7'8"

Bought a buddy from Toys R Us to hang on my shoulder while I lumber around the con floor
