muscle anatomy joker undermask.

So i finally got around to sculpting a muscle anatomy face for my joker. I had been inspired to do this since wondercon, but was a little intimidated by it. This is the most detailed sculpt i have ever attempted. Pretty happy with how it looks, but would love to hear the veteran sculptors input. I actually used my own teeth(yes they are terrible lol) for the mask. Any way, here it is. Thanks for looking and I appreciate any input 20140712_225541.jpg20140712_225532.jpg20140712_225522.jpg

I'm no veteran sculptor (never sculpted anything in my life actually), but this reference image might help with some of the facial muscles. It looks like certain areas on your sculpt like the upper lip have the muscle fibers going in the wrong direction. But I mean no one is going to stop you at a convention and get on your case about it, so it all depends on how anatomically correct you want it to be.

So over 300 views and one person gave input, thanks. Going to add some more clay to the checks and adjust the lines like siggested. Should be molding this week depending on my schedule

Coming along great. As said just follow that picture and study the anatomy the best you can and you'll nail it.
Thank you. I adjusted the lines and also added a little more to the check areas. Had a few people at work say could use a little bulk. Got the plaster on for the mold. It is my first time molding in plaster, so heres hoping lol. Thanks for looking

So the mold didnt pan out, going to have to resculpt the mask. Im a little irritated, but i suppose it comes with the territory. Got to do some research on plaster molding, see where i went wrong. This mask will happen, just delayed now. Any general molding knowledge to share?

I used plaster of paris and plaster strips. The first layer of plaster didnt hold to the strips. I also didnt make a mold wall, not sure if that matters. I think I dont think i had that first layer mixed properly. Didnt use burlap, but I have seen that used a lot. Have never molded with plaster before

After digging around youtube, pretty sure I just screwed up with the plaster. Going to get some burlap and plaster strips today. I dont think it will take to terribly long to resculpt
