Hi Everyone! Deathstroke mask and sword help, first timer

Hey guys, I've been a long time reader in this forum but never decided to give it a try until recently. I went to a con recently and decided I'm gonna do this, I'll be working on a cosplay for a con in November. I'm planning on going as Deathstroke but a mixed version with my own twist. A bit from the CW show and some from the book. For now mostly because of money and first time attempts I'm re-using my old Iron Man mask that I made work for Casey Jones from last year's Halloween. I'm coating it well and it's coming out awesome for my first shot but I''m in need of tips for the backing piece that wraps around the back of the head.

I was also hoping that someone could help me find some good references to his Katana Style sword as I'm looking to work on that out of foam or something soon. Any ideas on those would be helpful and appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome! Which con are you going to in nov? I'm just finishing arrow's deathstroke too, check the big free pepakura thread there are a couple of useable masks on there and if you only need the back section that could help. For my sword... I bought a samurai handled umbrella (so cool looking when you walk down the street with it on your back. Nice silhouette!)

Ah much cooler than me then - I'll be at Birmingham UK in November in my Deathstroke... Your loss though I would have bought you a beer ;)

I use a wooden boken, it is a practice sword, very realistic looking. You can get one with a scabbard for a pretty low price. There are pix of my costume on this section under Deathstroke Origins pictures.

FYI: Rhode Island Comiccon probably won't let you in the door with a metal sword, regardless of sharpness or peace bonding. They also run Terrorcon and we had to go through metal detectors to get in.

I'll be there with my peace-bonded-bokken and all my knives remade in resin.

I used one of those dime store ninja swords for my son's build that I painted to match the armor 8-23-2014 084.JPG
and then wrapped with parachord for the grip.
