MK1 Lawgiver

I love the Mark 1 Lawgiver but have never found a kit version that appeals to me. Decided the only way to get one is to make it myself. Spent an hour or so this evening modelling one in Solidworks. Aiming to design it in a way so i can stuff it with electronics so I can have a working ammo selector dial, trigger and sound effects,

Plan to spend the rest of the evening flicking through my Dredd Case Files to find some more reference images, especially the dial and grip.

Had a further fiddle and got the barrel and rear sight done. The different colours show the separate parts that'll be 3D printed.

Added the lower body and grip. Just need to model the magazine and trigger, then just some detailing work to do.

Edit: Almost done now.

The two most commonly reccomended ones are:

Sketchup: http://www.sketchup.com/
Autodesk 123D Design: http://www.123dapp.com/design

I started 3D modelling with Sketchup, really easy to learn but not very powerful. 123D Design is a bit trickier, but well worth the effort as you can do much more stuff in it. Both are free so you might as well download both and have a play around.
