The nice thing about being the boss is I approve my own time off. Hey look, my time off has been approved! I'll be there Thursday thru Sunday!![]()
Ayone else ,we are almost a skeleton crew ,so far we are going .......
Well, there's a large group that frequent the Starship modeler Boards that go. Over the years, I've seen Scott Alexander, Jason Eaton(we chatted before the Lorne Peterson seminar last year) Steve Niesen a couple years back. I know I've talked to several other RPF folks but for the life of me don't remember all their names.
Yep, there is a large thread, actually several, about Wonderfest over on SSM.
SSM Is Starship Modeler a website dedicated to starship modeling. Its the first place I ever heard of Wonderfest. Been going to that site since it's inception and consider WF kinda like a shiner's convention for everyone there.
I'm still trying to get my vacation confirmed, but I'm still going.
SSM ,now I understand ,forgot about them ,they have pretty good kits the last time I was at Wonderfest very nice folks indeed......Cant believe I forgot about SSM....OOOPS
You should pop over there and say hi.
I am hoping to as I had to bail out last minute last year but I am not sure. I have a 3 month old at home and finances are tight right now as I finish my last semester of school
Louisville Native here. Been a couple of years in the past and loved it. Hope to be able to go this year. Been lurking on the forums for awhile and figured be a good a place as any to break the ice. Im trying to go to Wonderfest this year but the wife is leaving for Ecuador for a month the following week. Got to help get her ready to go and prepare a 3 year old that his momma is going to be gone.
Chad
I just got confirmation that a work thing in Florida isn't going to interfere so I booked my room today.
Now I've gotta decide what i want to get off my a#$ and put together to bring to the show.
Anyone else ,please chime in , very excited to meet all of you guys.......
I'm a Louisville native and will going as well. Then my next stop will be Fandomfest/Fright Night at Louisville in June.
I was totally bummed about missing it last time so I'll definitely be there this year.
Just look for Marty and Jennifer.
For me, this is going to be my 15th Wonderfest as I've been coming since 1998. The budget will be lean, so I am staying across the street at the HoJo express (unless my traveling partner has to bow out, then I've got two buddies to room with at the Crowne).
Believe me, there will be Trek stuff there. Round 2 will be unveiling the test shot for the 1/350 TOS Enterprise (one will be in the silent auction) they are working on and of course the contest is going to have more than a few Trek subjects in it (good eye candy).
Over the years I have met a few RPFers there. Jason and Sean of course are the two main ones I look forward to meeting along with those who I already know from SSM who also post over here (Robiwan, QF etc...).
I'll be there for sure...rooming with Robiwon, his wife and G-Man.
You couldn't keep me away from the place..a non stop party !
Got word from Steve Niesen...he won't be attending this year.
I'll have a batch of his 1:350 K'Tinga's for sale...along with a bunch of other kits....look for me in the meet and greet room.
Hope to meet y'all there !
If anyone is interested I am Selling Hardigg/Pelican Cases.
I live in Louisville and will be at Wonderfest.
You can save on Shipping Costs.
I will even deliver to your hotel.

I'm driving over for Saturday of the convention, where is the best place to park? I assume the hotel has parking, is it cheaper there or is there parking nearby?

swfangirl, there is plenty of parking at the hotel and it's free. My only suggestion is get there as early as possible, that way you can get relatively close. There are multiple entrances to the hotel as well. Look for a dude dressed in an all black Jedi costume Saturday afternoon and say hi!
