    Dec 15, 2010 - Potential NYC Prop Party in June - Any Interest? #1
    Okay, with all the recent excitement over the forthcoming SoCal prop party, it got me thinking, what are us awesome East Coasters to do?

    Some have decided to fly to California, others have decided to cry quietly in a corner. I've decided to ask: Why not us?

    I figure New York City would be fairly central-ish for a lot of the east coast (4 hours from Boston, 2.5 from Philly, 7.5 from DC, etc, etc) and is also one of the single coolest cities in the world.

    So, who's with me? Who thinks we should show those SoCal guys how a real prop party goes down?

    Here's the translation of this post for those who don't feel like reading my ramblings: Who would be interested in having a prop party in NYC in 2011?

    If we can get enough interest, though I live outside the city, I'm near enough that if need be, I could take charge on it. If someone is actually in the city and is willing to take the helm, that would probably be a better option.

    It would be a good solid 12 hr drive for me but if I can convince the better half to roll it into a vacation I might be down. It would have to be late March or June

    The Socal Prop Party is like the San Diego Comic Con/ Dragon Con of prop parties...

    Great Idea with the prop party on the east coast....hopefully, you guys will be able to put one together...not sure when the last east coast party happened

    I love this idea. If you make it later in the year (possibly over the summer) then those of us who are on the East Coast but already made plans for the SoCal party can attend both!

    Don't worry, I was hoping to plan this further out so that we have enough time to work out the logistics, and get the word out about the prop party! Also that way it opens things up in case any of those west coasters want to take a flight over.

    I was looking at June as a tentative possibility.

    If you guys have any other suggestions though for dates, settings, or any other fun activities, let me know. I really want this to be, as the Scott Pilgrim movie was described, an Epic of Epic Epicness!

    Well I had actually been thinking about putting something together here in Florida, probably Orlando. The only problem is that then you run into tourist season if you wait until the summer, and any sooner would run into finance problems with some people.

    On the other hand, if I come to the NYC one, then I could see American Idiot on Broadway (if it's still running.... it's not looking as positive as I'd like for its chances)

    I was hoping he could be security...what with all that P90x'ing he does.

    I have some fun ideas that I'm tossing around for this, but I'll have to make some phone calls to see how feasible they are.

    ...first I just want to see if there are enough of us over here or willing to come over here to justify our own party. Price will be an issue, since - well - it's New York. Affordable in NYC is expensive most other places.

    I'll see what sort of rates I can dig up though.
