The Mystery Science Theater 3000 series was created by Joel Hodgson and produced by Best Brains, Inc. After a year on KTMA TV in Minneapolis, its national broadcast life began in 1989 on the Comedy Channel (later to become Comedy Central), where it ran for seven seasons. The show’s final three seasons aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. The premise of the series features a hapless man who is trapped by mad scientists on a satellite in space and forced to watch old B-movies of questionable worth. I'd LOVE to speak to the NYCC planning group.
There are almost NO panels on Saturday. Yet on Friday, they have the Star Wars Books, Chris Lloyd, and Adam West/batman, all at 12:00. You'd think these would be spread out rather than grouped together like that. I understand schedule conflics and all that, but geeze.. friday would be a full day of panels if that wasn't the case.. as it is, after sean astin there'll be a 3 hour period of nothing till turtles at 6:00.
Saturday seems like line waiting for photo ops. Anyone know how much they charge? Do you buy tickets on the spot? do the lines go quick? Are they usually mobbed for bigger stars?
Sunday we'll have sesame street, josh gates and ian mcdirmid.
It's a shame I don't know anyone with SS connections. I'd love a photo op with gordon and elmo, to make up for the photo op with Bob that I Had one time that never got sent to me... ugh.

The Mystery Science Theater 3000 series was created by Joel Hodgson and produced by Best Brains, Inc. After a year on KTMA TV in Minneapolis, its national broadcast life began in 1989 on the Comedy Channel (later to become Comedy Central), where it ran for seven seasons. The show’s final three seasons aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. The premise of the series features a hapless man who is trapped by mad scientists on a satellite in space and forced to watch old B-movies of questionable worth. To keep sane, he’s built two robot sidekicks, and together they do a running commentary on the films, affectionately mocking their flaws with inspired wisecracks and acting as a demented movie theater peanut gallery. Series creator Hodgson originally played the stranded man, Joel Robinson. When he left in 1993, series head writer Mike Nelson replaced him as the new B-movie victim Mike Nelson, and continued in the role for the rest of the show’s run. The format proved to be popular. During its eleven years and 198 episodes (including one feature film), MST3K attained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim. Saw some ghostbusters with a cool gozer walking around that matty booth... so glad i didn't wear my pack today..
I missed the chris lloyd panel. filled to capacity. people tried to rush the door to get in. Same with Batman panel.
The Photo Op lines where a mess.. the attendants could care less from froggy photos....like they hated their jobs. first you have to wait an hour in line to get your tickets, then another line for the photo. Any you can't buy tickets either online, or for separate days. You have to go back on that same ticket line the next day if you want someone else..
but did get his so i'm happy..
The Only things I DID see where a bit of inside the batmobile and the full Turtles panel. At least that was fun, with surprise extra guests.
Tommorow, going to try and get ian mcdirmid photo op..stan lee and batman..as well as joel hodgson...plan to get early to that at 1:30
