Cisco held it's annual conference called Cisco Live! in San Diego California this week. The event is attended by the brightest and most talented computer networking nerds in the world. Cisco really knows how to put on a great show. Tuesday night they invited all of the CCIE's to the Midway aircraft carrier, and Wednesday they rented the San Diego Padre's baseball stadium for the big "Customer Appreciation Event" featuring Weezer. For the closing keynote, Cisco invited Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage from Mythbusters for an interview.
I was really impressed that Jamie and Adam use the scientific method to investigate and test the myths they are busting. We also had a chance to see and hear about myths that would not be broadcast on television (too dangerous). They talked about lighting farts on fire, and it was funny watching the American Sign Language interpreters relay their discussion. The presentation was wrapped up with 6 minutes of explosion porn. Let's just say hot water heaters have incredible ballistic properties, and I think they could be used to get us back in the space race to the moon, and beyond!
Here's a bunch of pictures from the event:
