Captain Jack Harkness, that is...

There's a couple of things that are being worked on (trimming the waist line being projecto numero uno right now ), but overall I'm pretty happy with it. The biggest issue I've had with it is getting the hair right...and I think I realized what the problem is: my hair is too short. I also think it's thinning! I'll have to try growing it out before the next big con.

Anyway...on to the pics...

The trick to getting Jack's hair right is a flat iron. I'm not sure how thinning hair would react, but with mine it ends up looking right if I burn the hell out of it.

To be fair to myself I don't know that my hair is actually thinning. I do know that it looks thinner than Barrowman's, though. I used to have something close to high and tight for years, and only in the last 2 years have I let it start to grow out, so I'm really just noticing it now. Maybe I should start using my wife's shampoo to start adding volume.

Looks pretty good! I'm putting together my Jack for Halloween and got some good idea from posts here. What did you do for your Vortex Manipulator?

Thanks. At this point, the only part of the costume I'm not thrilled with is the person who fills it. But as I said, that's a work in progress.

Everything else is as close as I'm going to get it...unless the proper Cat boots (Luke model) pop up someday.

As for the VM...I borrowed the CO toy version from Terrasolo.

It's the one piece that has been put on the back burner for the time being...partly because I'm waiting/hoping to see what becomes available between Risu and other members here, and also because I have an ok substitute available through Terrasolo. It sucks that it's also one of the most recognizable pieces of the costume.

I here ya I'm patiently waiting for Risu and then I'll order the shapeways print. I preordered the VM toy but they keep pushing the release date further back each month for the past 6 months!

Yep...I'm in the EXACT same boat...waiting for Risu (not nagging you, Risu, don't worry) and waiting for Entertainment Earth to get the toy in stock. I enjoy the order status updates I get on the first of the month from them. I ordered back in January.

Gosh I know I ordered from Entertainment Earth as well. The least they could do is send me the free twilight zone mouse pad I got from pre ordering lol.
