great video but theres sound problems just after the 6 minute mark
Really enjoyed the video. Great job on the costume. How did you do the lights in the hands?
I cut apart dollar store flashlights. Hot glued a button battery holder with an alarm system magnetic reed switch onto the back of hand. Covered that with the armor plate and then made an elastic band bracelet with a magnet in it. So when I tilt my hand up the magnet triggers the reed switch to turn it on. Conserves battery power that way. I think I'm going to make a 2nd version where maybe 3 led's are always on and then all 7 light up when I move my hand.
Great video and it is very obvious that your kids think you are the coolest...
Take care,
Tommy
quick question, can you tell me how you did the black battle damage parts on the suit? like the center is silver because of the metal, and i guess thats made via drybrush, but i cant figure how you did the black "burn outline"
would help me a ton
cheers
EoS
I took some black paint on a small brush dabbed it on paper towel and then did quick, light swipes across the armour with the paper towel. The silver is dry brushed. I was really just guessing how to do it. I've never done dry brush or any weathering before as this was my first costume.
im guessing you did the black first and then drybrushed over it? it looks really good, and i only have drybrush on my armor so far, i like those burn marks![]()
Really nice video dude. Your kid looked awesome as Thor, got to love how the inhibitions washed away once his focus was on showing how cool he looks to the crowd.
Tom.
