Garrus Vakarian Mass Effect 2

Hey all I'm new to forum and thought I'd show some previous work

I was inspired by my previous at foam armour making (I made two suits of N7 armour prior to this) and thought I'd try and challenge myself further by making the captain of calibrations

It's a foam build built around modified pepakura patterns originally made by XenonRay on deviantART

The mask was not made by me, I had it commissioned from the esteemable L-Lawliott on deviantART

It took maybe a month solid to build, cost about £400+ (including mask commission, I lost count in the end) and a lot of it was very rushed towards the end









And so now on to V2! (as V1 got crushed and I've haven't dare look at it since I found out )

Nicely done! I especially like the game-accurate battle scars on the armor.

Great costume, really like the "authentic" hips on there. Haven't seen that fairly important detail on Garrus costumes as often.

Cheers guys. I tried to make 'authentic' turian hips but they still weren't large enough XD

There are only a few photos that really show how much the hips stick out and this is one of them

This is fantastic - loved seeing the pair of you at Kita. My partner (Xero) and I tried to say hi, but you looked like you were beginning to suffer from the heat ^_^'
A really nice costume and the battle-damage does look great. This has made my mightilliy tempted to try my own Garrus at some point

Very impressive! I am amazed at the expressiveness of the mask not often seen in cosplay. Your armor looks film-worthy, which I feel we see rarely in cosplay work. It may be unfair, but as a filmmaker, that's the standard to which I typically judge fanart, and I'm blown away by your work. I'm not familiar with the Mass Effect titles, but you've made me seek more information on the titles. Thank you!

Great attention to detail. How comfortable (or uncomfortable) is this to wear for long periods of time?

It's not that bad at first, it's those heeless shoes that where the killer they really weren't very comfortable at all even after I'd found my balance (somthing to work on! XD) and I couldn't really drink with it all on so after a few hours it was getting a bit claustrophobic and after four or five hours I just wanted to get the damn thing off but any negatives were outweighed by the looks on peoples faces as I walked around the con

What an impressive costume, the mask, the armour, the gun, everything is just so detailed and amazing!

Looks really nice! Is there any way you could incorporate a CamelBak bladder into the suit so you could have an onboard water supply?

I'm going to hopefully start work on Mass Effect 3 Garrus soon and if I run into the same problems as last time I now know what to do ^_^

Looks great! My gf has been pressuring me to make Garrus but its just so overwhelming >.< lol And the feet are what's honestly bothering me the most
