Aug 16, 2012 - Foam Iron Man Mk IV w Casted Helmet #1

Here are pics from a photo shoot taken of me at Anime Expo 2012 by Mike Kowalek (eleventhphotography.com). Body of the suit took be about 2 months to put together, paint, and mount. Made from robo's files modded by Stealth to be foam friendly. The helmet is a mold and cast from the pep helmet I made for my Stealth Iron Man Mk VI.

That suit looks awesome. Can't wait until I am done with some of my current projects so I can finally start an Iron Man suit.

I forgot the exact name but if do a google search on the forums it's pretty much the same as everyone else uses. Duplicolor auto paints.

Forgive my ignorance, and I could probably find this information on another Iron Man thread, but I was looking at your suit when the thought occurred to me. Your suit is very well done, but I have a question about your helmet. When building my own, I cannot figure out how to build the eye-lights and still be able to see out of them. How did you construct yours? Thanks!

Hey man, I just made eye boxes with foam with LEDs inside. If you check out theherotutorials by STEALTH, he shows his method of lighting up his helmet.

Awesome dude. Is it a very difficult thing to build for someone that has never built something like this before?

Thanks guys. It just takes some patience to get a decent product. Not being afraid to trash pieces if they're not good enough and also taking your time with sanding and body filling if you go the fiberglass route.
