I'm new here. I have been sewing for most of my life. Self taught starting with my nan teaching me to darn socks when I was 5.
I made this a while back but it didn't get an outing till Manchester Comic Con. I made 2 for a fancy Dress and ended up going with my Ghost Rider Gun Nun.
Due to making a pattern and helping my niece by teaching her sewing, and helping make her Junior Cosplay winning Costume, I had no time to make something so I went to my fall back costume.
I actually really love the waist coat on this outfit, I made the pattern myself.
The fabric I was lucky to find in my local Fabric Warehouse at bottom of my road. He had tried to get me a Purple Pinstripe as I wanted to make a Dress Suit, couple of weeks later he got a roll of this in. I bought 10 meters.
The purple silk mix lining was in my fabric stash, as was the green for the Collar.
Pic of Duela Dent Cosplay and my niece as Sakura. Still need to complete the Sakura CardCaptors Cosplay as needs the wings sewing on the collar and back, need to make boots, hat and Bloomers. But we ran out of time. Next time she stays over we can do more work. Teaching is great and means one day she will be able to just come and steal fabrics and use my machine to make it all herself, Pattern Drafting aswell if I can teach her that.

What inspired you? Hubby's nagging for me to go DC and not Marvel lol
How long did it take? Just over a week of staying up all night, every night. Have kids and farm so daytime is nearly always out for me.
How much it cost? Fabric was £1.50 a metre I think. Wide roll so I only used a couple of metres. Flower was 99p. Big Button (pack of 6) £1.50
Specific details for which you are most proud. The fact that I just did it based on 3 comic strip pics and drafted the pattern myself.
Tips. Interfacing on collars, it's great stuff.
Sakura Cardcaptors
What inspired you? My Niece. She wanted it.
How long did it take? About a week.
How much it cost? £1.80 per metre. Think I used about 4 to 5 metres. Buttons and clips from my Stash. Not sure how much Gold Binding I used but it was £7 for 25m and I still have loads.
Specific details for which you are most proud. My niece helping to pin, fold and sewing straight lines, Buttons on etc lol Was great fun.
Tips. Measure, Measure and measure again and use a dress making dummy which you can adjust. My niece lives 8 miles in next town and not always easy to get her in middle of night to check a measurement lol
**Walking Stick ain't really part of my Cosplay, I kinda need it to walk lol**
