I'd personally go for the removable mask because it would get annoying if you ever wore it around and wanted to eat or drink.
ah, ive had experience with some zentai suits in the past and i was under the impression this would be similar. Those suits allowed you to unzip the hood from the back and it would then hang down over the front leaving the rest of the suit still intact.....I couldn't quite tell how the zipper work ed on this suit
Well the zipper is across the shoulder on the raimi suit, so it wouldn't work like that most likely. The amazing spidey suit might though. I think I might order another one with the hood attached soon.
Does anyone have a recommendation on the adhesive to attach the soles to the feet of the suit? I think I saw someone say Shoe Goo, is that the best thing to get?
Yo spiderfan11 how good is the visibility in the Amazing Spiderman Suit from 1 to 10 1 being the worst to 10 being the best.
after you mentioned the aqua shoes to me i looked around a bit and everyone seems to mention shoe goo, or some variation of an 'instant grip' type glue, the later setting in a few mins where as shoe goo can take longer
im about to order my suit (tomorrow) with custom measurements, though i wasn't quite sure how to get the inside leg measurement properly.....obviously dont want it completley "riding up in the crotch" ...so would i be best off just wearing some decent fitting jeans for example and measure the inner leg on them(except going all the way down to my heel/the floor)
and i assume its the 'proper' wasit measurement they want, which is near enough across the belly button for most people, rather than where you usually where your pants...
I think I'm going to go with shoe goo, I'm ok with it taking longer to set, I just want it to be durable after it sets.
Without providing too much information, I just wore a more form fitting pair of underwear and measured roughly from the floor to the bottom of my groin. My recommendation is not to try to adjust your measurements to where you think you might want the suit and just take the accurate measurements. I don't think it will ride up too high if you do.
Correct, the waist measurement will probably not be where your pants would normally be worn, that's probably more like your hips than your waist.
That turned out nice. You gonna do anything to yours? (puffy paint, new eyes, etc)
I adjusted some of the measurements by a cm or so simply because im also still 'cutting' weight, 4 weeks from now theres a good chance some of them may well be a cm or 2 less. Im pretty sure it should fit fine....hopefully
let us know how the shoe goo goes, i may do the same thing. I believe the method also involves using a sock as extra protection before you stand on the sole, not 100% sure on the correct way to do it though. I just want to be able to walk about in it, inside and outside without messing it up or having my feet falling out all over the place.
That makes sense, though if you were losing weight, your leg inseam shouldn't change.
Socks might work, though another one I heard was saran wrap, which would probably do better to avoid adherence. I'll let you know how it works when I try it out. I'm gonna see if I can find the shoe goo this weekend. Not sure where to get it though lol. I'll try Michaels and Walmart for starters.
wow.. comparing this to the others offered in the junkyard ($200+prints, sewing, eyes, faceshell, etc....) this seems like a great alternative for people that don't want to spend so much. i'm tempted!
Cheers I will defo puff paint the spiders before halloween but then wait to do the webbing am looking into some eye frames but think it just be the front and back spiders till after halloween
No kidding, that's how I saw it too. Pretty hard to beat a decent $50 costume. If I can influence your decision, I say do it. You won't be disappointed.
That's a good idea, don't want to bite off more than you can chew in so short a time or you'll be running around in a half completed costume. The spiders are a good place to start before halloween.
Yeah, but I'm going home for the weekend from school so it wouldn't get there in time. I'll see if I can find it in-store, and if not, I'll order some for next time. I'd just like to avoid paying shipping on $3 worth of glue![]()
Quick question have any of you used puff paint? Do you apply it on to th fabric normally or do you stretch the fabric out? Many thanks
You definitely want to stretch the fabric out. Puffy paint isn't really stretchy and would crack if you applied it to the unstretched suit and then stretched it out. I'd recommend using a mannequin or some kind of body form so it's in the exact position and amount of stretch as when it will be worn.
Cheers that's what I thought lol I might puff paint the frames untill I decide if going to buy some ?
Wow great find. I never have any luck on eBay finding good zentais like this.
Truthfully the zentai suits always fit me like a glove. Better than anything else I get.
And they can always customize them easily. (Pee zipper, removable mask)
I wish China would step up their game and start dye subbing.
I would buy one with honeycomb in a heart beat.
Nice find. Haven't seen this there. I look often.
Good looking for zentais!! I am looking at a spidey suit myself. Preferably the one from the new ultimate spiderman series. I want to do the red puff paint on a classic style suit with black puff paint webs and spider. But with the blue flat. Would love to make a unique spidey suit :P
