    Jun 3, 2012 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle #1

    Hi guys!

This is something I've been working on for a very long time and its nearly finished. I'm going to tweak a few things then it will be ready for molding (Not satisfied with the realism). I used reference from the cartoon and comic book and blended the design with human anatomy. Hope you enjoy the pictures, and any feed back/critiques are welcome and appreciated!
    Thanks for looking!

    -Mark

WOW, I like this one. I have seen a few on here but some tend to look a bit toyish to me.

I like the more human look to it. Can't wait to see more.

Thank you I"m glad you like it! I try to incorporate as much realism as I can esp because I love these characters ( I'm curious to see what Michael Bay does with his addition). I'm hoping a silicone casting will put this over the top when its complete. Thanks for looking!

Man really like where you are taking this sculpt. Are you planning on being able to see out the eyes instead of under them like in the movie mask?

Really like the expression and the eyes, guessing this is Raph or Leo
and I agreee, loosing a little of the dome brings it closer to the original characters form

very very cool, and funny that you sculpted all that over a Joe~

lol Joe is a good head form!

I am making this so you will be able to see through the eye holes rather then under them ( I didn't know thats what they did for the actual film).

Im not aiming for one turtle character. Thought I would leave that option open ended and just change the color of the bandana and a different paint scheme. Def going to change the dome and punch up the realism! I'm glad you turtle fans are happy with my direction it means alot!

VERY cool. The eyes are perfect, but are you going to cover all that up with a cloth mask? That would be sad!

This is looking fantastic. I also agree that the head is just a tad bit to tall. Your work is amazing my friend! Cannot wait until this beast is finished. Thanks for sharing, jacob

Thank you turtle fans!!! Sry for my delay in updating. I have been revamping him! It has been a challenge solving the tall head problem but I figured it out. I will have new pictures any day now. Thanks for the support and kind words!

Its still rough, but its looks a lot less awkward then before. Worked on the neck, and skull shape. Evened out the angry brow expression. Still more work to do but should have this wrapped up in a week or so. Will make copes out of polyfoam, latex, and silicone.
