Dear Knight Falcon,
We all have had casting like this , do not worry, with time and work you will correct the flaws in the molding.
I assume that this is a latex casting?
If so then all you have to do is repair the stone mold.
Here is what I do and have done:
1) Strap the mold together tightly.
2) With a spray bottle of water, wet the inside of the mold down, give it a good soak.
3) Mix up so0me plaster (the same that you used to make the mold with).
4) With a paint brush, fill in the gaps along the seam line, let that settle and paint more in.
5) Then take a small damp sponge and gently wipe away the plaster till ti is smooth.
6) Repeat if necessary till you can not see the seam at all.
When completely dry gently pull the mold apart and your seam should be almost invisible.
Again, repeat if there is still flaws.
Mold making is an art just like sculpting and it takes time and practice but don't give up we all have been there.
On a side note, if you do not wet down the mold pryer to brushing on the new plaster, the mold will suck out all the moisture and the patch will crumble off.
Good luck and just take your time. Your next casting will be better!
Daniel
Thanks so much! i figured it would be using more plaster but i wasn't sure. and yes it is latex.
But again, thank you.
