    Feb 6, 2012 - Ninja Turtles Michelangelo Mask * Sculpt finished* #1

This is a continuation of this thread.

I figured that I need to stop "tweeking" the sculpt or other wise I'll never get done. This thread will be about casting etc.

    Finished sculpt:

I was told that the best way to go is foam filled latex. However, I can't find foam latex that doesnt require baking.

    Any suggestions?

Found some photos when I started it *never posted here*

you could try using silicone, or pourable latex and then using like a smooth on flex foam to kinda back it and give it some strength. NOT sure if that would work

Very nice sculpt. How did you do the details?, it doesnt look like the normal circle details but more of a leathery look.

    Thanks!

I tried the circle detailing but I could never do it right. So I ended up using a texture pad lol

I really like that texture! Do you have a link to where you got that texture pad? I might want to do the same to my sculpt instead of the pen-texturing I have been using. VERY NICE WORK

I would look into making a 2 part Ultracal mold and cast this sucker in latex. Then foam fill that latex pull so it fits your head with out being wobbly and floppy, Similar to how the guys over on theHuntersLair.com make pred heads. Great looking Turtle bud!

I really can't wait to see this finished. I always thought this project was a bridge too far but this is very inspiring.
