    Howdy, all!

I'll be going to Dragon*Con this year as a future Doctor (the Nth doctor) based on my own design (by that meaning using my own clothes for most of the costume as I don't have much money! ). While I think it will be amusing having people ask me who I am as a result, much like the Doctor is always asked on the show, I would like more than a sonic screwdriver and a bag of Jelly Babies to help people realize the connection. So, I've decided upon carrying around an Adipose to aid me as I go cosplaying.

I'm thinking of making an Adipose that can fit in a small basket I can carry around, one that would "pop out" periodically. My question to you all is how could I go about making both the Adipose (as a static figure) and the rig for the basket?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you can buy a plush or stress toy (stress toy is known to leak) you could probably make your own from an old sheet or pillow case and use pillow stuffing its a fairly simple shape, if the basket you use has lid you could simply attach a length of fishing line to the top of your adipose run it through the lid and up your sleeve with say a foot of slack hanging down from your armpit connected to a keyring then simply pull on the keyring to make his head pop up (thats probably the easiest way to tackle it).

    Thanks Pobbrett, for the response.

I failed to mention I already have the stress toy and am looking for something a bit more realistic. I've been looking into sculpting, but want to avoid molding and casting unless absolutely necessary.

I actually have some money to fund this little guy, something I didn't have before I decided upon my costume! That reminds me: Looch, girls dig the hair I have, so I don't think I'll ever go back to the 9th Doctor's buzzcut! (Or did you mean David Tennant's?) I think you misunderstand, however. The Nth Doctor would be the last incarnation, nth meaning highest. Actually, I guess I'll show you a crappy pic of what my costume looks like thus far:

it depends on how you wanna go with it if you want to avoid casting etc you could knock one up out of sculpey just make a rough shape tin foil armature and build up the clay over it whack it in the oven low and slow and then spray paint it up unless you get the white sculpey and a bit of black for the features then painting wouldn't be necessary.
