My new "Grail" piece.....Bobby C's 1:1 TDK Joker

It's amazing how lifelike this piece is. Especially, the eyes make this really something special. This is so realistic it is disturbing. And I love it. You ever get tired of it, send it to me. ;)

Don't think it will be going anywhere anytime soon....unless it just walks away on its own. :cool

With the display being the actual character the " Joker " which is portrayed by Heath it is perfectly fine.

If the lifesize display itself was just the actor Heath Ledger just as himself in everyday life it may be considered slightly odd to most people.

Killer Joker display by the way! :thumbsup

Very realistic, but one thing I never understood is the desire for 1:1 scale "people." Props, I get (obviously). But the want for a full scale replica person escapes me. It just seems creepy having a realistic looking mannequin in your room. Especially if you have more than one, it's like you're collecting people. The desire for an object is one thing, but the desire to "have" a human... I don't get it.

Yes, clearly you "don't get it", but thanks for your wonderful comments anyway. Some people are just obnoxious beyond belief. :rolleyes

I wasn't trying to question your choices, I was merely posing a question in hopes of getting an answer. Obviously, I am not into this side of the hobby, and just had some questions. Re-reading my original comment, I guess it did come across not as I intended. I did not mean to be rude or judge your choices at all, but I do agree I could have used better wording instead of "thinking out loud." For that I am sorry and apologize for my dumb comment :$

A better choice would have been "what got you into 1:1 scale full bodied likenesses?"

Apology accepted, CaptainEO.

As for what got me into 1:1 characters, I was always mesmerized by life-size statues since my first trip as a kid to a Hollywood wax museum that had a 1:1 Christoper Reeve Superman on display. I've always liked small scale statues and figures as well, but felt that nothing was more of an "impact piece" than a full 1:1 statue....especially if it's done with great attention to detail. The Joker idea came about when I was looking at a fellow RPF member's 1:1 Joker by Bob Causey and thought I'd love to have one of those for myself. I contacted Bobby to see if he would take on the job of doing one of his magnificent busts for me and the rest was history.

The Joker got a new toy to play with....a Hot Toys Tumbler. :)

Hi. Could I trouble you to let me know how I can contact Bobby? I would like to know more about his skills and perhaps, if I can afford it, request him to make one for me. Thank you

Well I have a few lifesize statues in my room. I started collecting figures and 1/4 scale statues then went on to 1:1 scale busts. Imo, you cant beat the wow factor and impact this scale can offer. Even going from a bust to a torso bust and then to lifesize just gets better everytime.

And to have something so brilliantly accurate from a word class artist in Bobby C, to see this in the flesh would eave me speechless.
Im hoping to one day own this :)

Your a very lucky man Brent :)

Thank you for the very kind words, gypsycatcha. It's comments like yours that make all the money and work that went into this project worth it. :cool

Littlemuseum, I just sent you a PM. ;)

This is so amazing! I am still in shock at how life-like he looks. The talent that went into making this, the work/time/money that was spent in putting it together, is really unbelievable. It's funny because I never imagined that I would want to have a 1:1 prop in my house, but this has certainly changed my opinion. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the nice words, man. :thumbsup

Nice purchase buddy. The man is truly talented, I bought a Christopher Reeve Superman statue from Bobby a few years back and still cant get over how realistic it looks. You'rs is just so life like!!!!!

That is seriously so realistic it's scary. During the video I thought for a moment that it was going to turn and speak the last line :lol. Fantastic sculpt and smashing job putting this all together, really nice. Best 1:1 Joker I've ever seen.

This is absolutely incredible! What an amazing piece! I don't think I could come home to this... I'd be constantly awaiting this masterpiece to threaten to feed me to my pooches! Yet, despite that, I still want it! It's awesome... Congrats!

Thanks for all the recent comments, guys. It's funny because I was just flipping through the channels last night and The Dark Knight was on. Even though I own it on Blu-ray and have seen it a million times I couldn't help but stop and watch it again. Ledger's Joker really is the best screen villain in movie history as far as I'm concerned and I'm proud to have this piece as a part of my collection. Thanks again for the nice words. :)
