Yes it is apoxie sculpt. Most of her is. I started with a simple wire frame and built that up with bondo. Scraped that to the general shape and then laid the apoxie sculpt on that. If you look at all the pics you can see all the changes I made, I just sanded down and started over. I made her out of this material cause I'd knew I'd be handeling the sculpt alot. The head however was sculpted from clay cause I didn't want to be rushed. Apoxie sculpt has about an hour of good working time. I then made a quick prototype mold and cast a head to put on.Yodajammies said:

Mold making progress. In this pic are the legs being molded. It's slow going cause I've had a very busy schedule this month. The wind is a little out of my sails cause of the release of the liscensed statue, which is very nice. Hopefully mine is different enough with her wearring her chaps and actual hair and feather accessories, not plastic.
Yeah, the timing is a bit.... "off", considering that SS released licensed (and very nice piece), however, I'm still excited to see how will yours turn out, and can't wait to see more!

It's my favorite pose of hers from the film.

I'll be finishing the leg mold this week, and all that's left from that is to add some detail to the rock base and mold it. I really need to get this done cause I'm going to be busy, busy when my son(#2) is born in October. Hope to have something to offer by that time.

Third time's a charm, maybe? Made some more changes, slanted the eyes, fuller lips, less bony cheeks, more forehead,inhanced eyebrows, widened head at ears so they weren't so sunk in.

Leg mold complete. Looking forward now to reassembling the original and getting it finished out. Still have some detailing to do on the rock base before molding.

I can't help myself. I shouldn't post anything til I have it complete but I gotta show you guys a paint prewiew. I've got the master copy back togehter, and I've started painting. In this pic I have the hair losely placed on the head with a rubberband. I still have alot of work but it's so nice to see some color on it. I still need to complete all the accessories, for a character who wears next to nothing there sure are alot of little details. I want to also include her flying goggles. About the color choice, she has many looks. In full datlight she is a very pail blue, and you can't see her stripes clearly, and no bioluminesense. I chose to make her a little more nighttime colors, whatcha think?
