How do I "bake" this evenly? I've never tried baking my sculpts. I'd love to have them molded and cast.

I'm of no help in the clay department but do you have a better picture? This thing looks sweet and I wanna see more!
With Sculpey follow the instructions, 15 minutes at 250 degrees or you can boil it yes boil it as hot as you can boil it water doesn't burn but with sculpey if you forget it's in the oven it can burn leaving burnt bubbles on it's surface.
That sculpture looks impressive..you need to upload a decent quality image.
Damn 15mins?... I usually leave mine in for about 2-3 hrs depending on size. I start off at 70 degrees and ramp it up every half hr. Its probably overkill but it ensures that the heat penertrates and reduced the temperature gradient from inside to outside..which means reduced cracking.
Leave it cool naturally with the oven door open.
i'll try to get a better camera... this was taken with an old Nokia. hehe. Boiling? Interesting. I had bad luck baking a few thin strips in an oven toaster. Ended up bubbling and seriously blackening the clay to a crisp. That's why i'm apprehensive. I really don't need it rock hard... just enough so it survives molding. I'll give boiling a try. Thanks a ton guys! Going to get that pic now.
Amazing work. I miss sculpting with sculpley. Easy to work with. Makes any novice a pro with little effort. I can wait to see this molded and casted into a resin
