Mar 28, 2012 - An Introduction to the Sculpture and Makeup Effects Forum #1

We constantly are asked to create new forums for our community and for the most part, we resist the urge to do so, as it tends to fragment the site. However, we are always looking for ways in which to better serve the community and when we see a particular area flourishing, we want to make sure it gets the attention it deserves and doesn't get lost in the mix. With that in mind, we have created a new forum to focus on an area that overlaps many other aspects of the hobby, but we feel deserves its own forum.

As you can tell from the title, this forum is focused on sculpting, specifically when it relates to busts, displays, appliances, statues and makeup fx.

Sculpting is the core of a great deal of prop building and we hope this forum will also be used to share tips, techniques and how-to tutorials that will help the budding sculptor get off the ground and help the more seasoned sculptor hone his/her skills.

On a final note, we realize that sculpting can be a part of prop building, costuming and even model making and there will inevitably be some overlap between forums.
