    Jun 17, 2012 - Helmet molding? #1

I don't know if this is the best place or not, but is there a good step by step tutorial anywhere for molding a helmet the proper way?

These are two that I found on youtube. They represent the two differnt styles of molding: 1) case first; RTV second. 2) RTV first and case second

    THANK YOU, clonesix !!!

Not only are those two more excellent VISUAL resources .... but when you bring up one of the videos on YouTube, there are even MORE molding related videos listed on the right.

So much information to try to learn from/absorb .... it can be truly overwhelming.

Nevertheless, THANK GOD FOR YOUTUBE !!! - I always learn much better by actually seeing something done than by reading a tutorial. (Taking nothing away from written tutorials, mind you - very valuable as well).

I'd also point to Volpin's daft punk helmet tutorials. Specifically, here is the moldmaking portion of his Thomas helmet: Volpin Props: Daft Punk Helmet (Thomas): Part 2
