    Jul 29, 2012 - Finishing effects book recommendations? #1

    Greetings all!

As suggested by the title, I wonder if anyone has any recommemdations for books about advanced finishing techniques. I'm not a beginner, perhaps a novice, but...
Well the truth is I absolutely hate painting my work. I've seen and read several videos and essays to get me through washes, the perfect Allclad finish, chipped paint and the like. I'd like a collected resource.
I do have several websites linked, but you can never have to many resources.

So, any books come to mind?

    Thank you kindly,
    Thomas

Hi Thomas, here is a link for some great DVD's - https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/videos
Every once in a while, they have a 50% off deal... That's when I grab them!
I have purchased 4 so far, and they are amazing!
    Hope this helps!

No problem... If we don't share knowledgeable tid-bits with each other, then it's waisted knowledge... And I agree with you about Mark Alfrey, I have all his video's, and they are big time awesomo! Very talented dude (*******... )
If you haven't already, check out http://www.conceptart.org/. A wealth of knowledge.
I hope Adam Beane's DVD comes out soon. It will be interesting how he approaches sculpting.
    Hope this helps!
