Yet again I look to my fellow RPFians for some advice...
How many of you actually finish your sculptures in clay? I guess that those that sculpt in clay for one-offs wouldn't usually go to the trouble of making a mold and such, but does this make for a trusty finished product?
Chavant NSP in particular, I know can be melted and poured to cast with, so I'm considering trying this as it's something I could later warm a little and re-pose in the case of a creature from a mold. Would clay, even firm clays such as Chavant, run the risk of sagging or falling apart if left as a finished product?
I'm still learning, but my uneducated mind just assumed that clay was typically only use to sculpt, then later molded and cast in other materials. Whether I'm incorrect in my assumptions or there's other points to consider, any information you have to offer is always greatly appreciated.
Cheers - Chris
