FIRST CAST IS OUT!
im pretty proud for my first slush cast ever :P
not many bubbles on the surface of this one at all and its very strong even at its weakest point.... tested it by dropping it from waist height onto my bare wooden floor, so happy about that![]()

Following this thread. I was actually thinking of carving one of these out of actual wood but your version here is the nicest example I have seen out there so far.
I hate the idea of carving into a material to reach an object because im always afraid Id carve out too much material :P I have so much respect for sculptors that carve into materials because of that as I am too afraid to even attempt it thank you for the compliment though!
As and update, im working on evening out the surface of the cast Ive made now that Ive fixed the misalignment problem and once Ive done that Ill probably put up an interest thread to see if its worth re-moulding to offer to the community!
new update!
after failing to mould this twice ive finally pulled off a mould that i deem good enough to take forward! while waiting for my mould to dry off after giving it a rinse i took some paint to the master to test out colour schemes ect...
I was trying to replicate the blue hue around the edge in this photo: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...rokei_Mask.png
ignore the fact that the paintjob sucks so fari was just slapping on paint to see what it looked like, also the bitty texture further up the mask is from trying in vain to wipe off paint with a tissue
note to self... use a rag
anyways here are the photos!
It is a very subtle glow around the edge but i think it only works because of the shiny silver base reflecting the misted layer of blue around the mask, what does everyone think? If i try misting more blue it very quickly over powers the look. BTW the blue hue is more noticeable in person![]()
okay so ive finally gotten around to finalising the paint for my mask! I went for a vokun style paint job....
go easy on me this is my first try at doing properly weathered paint![]()

I'm late to the Skyrim party but I've been playing it through now... which means I've allowed myself to view these Skyrim based sculpt posts (I figure I'm far enough in to not spoil anything too much).
Love this sculpt... great to bring something from such a richly imagined world into our own.
Thats really nice work man, the weathering works very well. Be proud![]()
That looks awesome! Are you gonna do en entire dragon priest build?
i decided to leave it at the mask for now :P ive got so many other projects going on at once that i think i needed to just slow down haha
