    Apr 24, 2012 - Dkiltz292's Scupture Contest Entry #1

I was originaly intended to sculpt The Maxx for my entry. Unfortunantly bad luck struck and when I was 3/4 through the sculpture it was knocked to the floor. I get extremly bored and lose intrest when i try to recreate something that I have already done so I decided to do the next best thing....Start something new. I am down in Mexico right now and the only thing I could find to sculpt with was a plastilina clay, i know it doesnt harden but hey, I had to try anyways.

I started off with a wire frame and then covered it with the plastilina and then made the rough sculpt

I stared with the boots and then made my way up to the head makeing small details along the way

I made a mock head just to get some of the preportions looking right sence i wasnt useing any scale

After that i scupted the arms and then tried to do a little bit of the fine details

I used a little bit of cooking oil to smooth out some of the clay because its kinda hard to work with sence you cant harden it.

    And Finaly the finished piece

I have been sculpting on and off for about 2 years mostly when I have time between work and my other activities. I Have never used plastilina before most of the time its sculpty or some oven bake clay. I would love to learn how to make molds of my sculptures so that I could actually keep a few instead of just selling my one of a kinds. well thanks for checking out my work and reading my rambleing.

Looks really good. I'm always too nervous to even try something this big. Biggest thing I've done is a half finished head for a Fallout game character. I prefer sculpty except you never seem to be able to have a big enough oven to bake it in.
