    Jul 26, 2012 - Concrete Casting Help! #1

    I'm currently working on The 5th Element Stone replicas and was wondering if anyone had any tips on getting concrete to release from small spaces in a mold. The majority of the mold is melamine (which gives me no problems) but the square dowel (coated in spray paint and vegetable oil) refused to come out without taking a large chunk of the concrete with it. Any advice?

    as a carpenter , I have to work with concrete forms everyday. We use concrete form oil on plywood before pouring concrete on it to prevent bonding on the wood.

    here is a example : Concrete Form Oil « Prism Lubricants

    Or what you have to do is using silicone mold to pour the concrete in it , just the same step as pouring plaster into a mold
