First of all, it's not nice to take a shot at action costumes who happened to sculpt one of the best busts of Reeve I've seen. If you choose not to pay that, then fine. That's your business. You don't need to try to hurt action costumes sales which it appears you are attempting to do. If you want to try to sell that, fine. But no need to complain about another artists prices. That's just bad form.
You might want to take a few more sculpting lessons before asking that kind of price. No offense.
I would maybe sell that for $ 50.00 at best. I think $ 600 is extremely wishful thinking.
Oh and if you are going to post that this is for sale, you need to post it in the Junkyard. Now follow the rules and play nice.

Second, $ 600 for that? You're serious?
That is what I was gonna say-- Not to be harsh but it looks more like a bad version of Michael Jackson to me

I have no issue paying that if it's good work and a limited piece. Your above post was rude to action costumes. No one is forcing you to pay $ 1500 for a bust so why even make mention of it? And You did not state that your price was for a full mannequin. I understood your post as just for the above head. No mention was made for the rest of it. See below.

"I would love to have someone cast this and sell it to members for $600, instead of the $1,500." To me, that says you want to get $ 600 for the MJ bust.

No offense dude...but there are reasons why you pay a higher price....its like do you want the Ford Ranger or the Cadillac Escalade? Bob Causey charges around $6k for his silicone Reeve and its what i call....PERFECT....AMAZING!!!! You want the best....gotta pay for the best....now $600 for that....i can't see it. The suit for one i'm sure is less than $300...the head is like $25 from the looks....so roughly around $375....lol....come on really now? Gonna knock Action Costumes?? And when did Micheal Jackson pop up?

Looking at Pattym's past posts,(32 since 2011) seems like she just complains about everything others make. Gotta love having folks like this around. Anyone thinking "Troll"?

I was trying to offer a Reasonable alternative for reeve fans that wanted a full superman, and not break the bank.

End of story.

[QUOTE

I wasn't posting to brag about a sculpture I did in two days, I was posting to offer members the chance to have a full reeve superman for a fraction of the cost of a resin head.
OK-- but you have just said it yourself-- it took you 2 days to do this and you want $600 for it. Having a full size Superman is cool, but if im paying that money I want something that at least resembles it-- not a 2 day throw together piece.

You have some talent, but it needs developed before you can ask the higher prices. Even at the $375 price I wouldnt purchase this-- Just a little info for you-- If you are going to tout yourself as an artist and sculptor, be prepared to take constructive critiques.

You do not decide what people should price their offerings at. If you don't like the price, don't buy it. Just because it is resin doesn't mean the price should or would be the same as what others are offering. Your whole approach is rude and offensive towards another member and his offering, while trying to sell yours. Honestly, you are not selling your own stuff very well, by putting someone else down in the process. That is poor salesmanship and will make people even less interested in your work.

Your sculpt could need refinement and painting can be improved. I honestly can't see your work command the price you are setting for it. Honing your skill and improving may eventually make such a price acceptable, but it's just not of that caliber yet.

My husband just informed me that our neighbor bought superman.

Guess we won't be casting and selling it.
